(More customer reviews)...The people on this CD went threw hell to get as far as they did, so wether you like them or not, you have to give credit where credit is due.
1. Natural Woman-Kelly Clarkson- Her live performance rocked the house and the cd track was no exception. Let's face it the girl can blow! The only disapointment was I really wanted to hear the Mariah Carey high note on the cd (like she did on the show) but they toned it down a bit.
2. Respect-Kelly Clarkson- again, awesome job but I feel that her live performance of this song is way better than the cd song.
3.For Once in My Life-Justin Guarini-I think he is a great live performer. He has excellent stage presence and he is totally at home on stage, the cd makes him sound so much better than his live performances. He did a great job on this song.
4.Get Here-Justin Guarini- Always loved it when he performed this song and the cd version is great. He sounds completly professional,again great job.
5. Piece of my Heart- Nikki McKibbin-not a big Nikki fan. I feel to appreciate her voice you'd have to catch her singing in the shower. Did not like the song, a little to rough sounding for me but out of everyone on the show, no one handled Simon's critisicm better than she did. She did her thing, and I respect that, just have never really liked her voice.
6. A house is not a home- Tamayra Gray- this chick is going places. She ripped this song up and made it her own. I think that America screwed up when they voted her off but hey that is the way it goes, nontheless she performed this song beautifully!
7. Lately-R.J. Helton- what a cutie!! I always liked him. The song on the cd wasn't the best, but his voice is real pure and he never has to strain to hit the notes.
8. Ain't no Sunshine-Christina Christian- By far my favorite song on the entire album. She has such a unique voice and her live performance of this song was great. She sounds great and I look for her to land a record deal anyday.
9. If you really love me-Ryan Starr- hated it.To me it sounds like she alters her voice into something it's really not. She slurs on the word "clearly" in the middle of the song and it sounds like she has a bull in her throat, I just wish that she would sing her age.
10.My Chere Amor-A.J. Gill-I'm sure he has a heart of Gold but it's a little to "Backstreet" for me. Wasn't crazy about this song or his singing.
11.I'll Be- E.J. Day- What was America thinking when they voted off E.J.? He was by far the best male singer of the group. He rocked this song and I like it better than the original. He was underestimated and I think that if he would have gotten past the first week, he would have been the one standing next to Kelly at the end.
12. Easy-Jim Veraross- Simon was right when he said Jim was out of his league- His top ten spot definitly could have gone to someone else. He just doesn't have the range like the others and although he sounds okay on the cd, it just didn't do much for me.
13. California Dreaming-Group- Would have rather heard "Joy to the World" but I liked the harmonies and I think that they sing good together, very impressed by the song.
14. A Moment Like This-Kelly Clarkson- this song was made for her. Her range and tone is unbelivable and this song gives me goose bumps.
15. Before your Love-Kelly Clarkson- this girl could sing the back of a Corn Flakes Box and it would probably make it to number 1. I like this song even better than "A Moment Like This" and I am so glad that America voted her as the American Idol.

(More customer reviews)Ok, when I first saw this I was REALLY shocked too, here's the deal with it though. It comes in one of those packages, where it's really thick, and then it opens on two sides and has two cds in it. The first CD is just like any no strings attached you can buy with the two extra tracks "i'll never stop" (which ROCKS) and "if only through heavens eyes" (which also rocks, it's on the light it up soundtrack.) Then on the other side there's a CD that's like forest green, and it says "nsync bonus ep" and it has the other five songs on it, two remixes of bye bye bye (which you can only find on "bye bye bye the remixes" and is only sold as a record at amuzenet.com for like... five bucks, seven with shipping. then there's two remixes of it's gonna be me, both are on the "it's gonna be me remixes," and an intstrumental of i'll never stop which can be found on the i'll never stop single. I hope that's enough info for you!! it comes in a really cool cover thin that's green with little black pokadots all over it that stick up... and on the back lists all the songs on the cds together. bye bye bye!!

If half the people that reviewed this album would have listened to the words, then maybe they might have like the CD better. Not to hate on nobody or nothin, but I mean lets listen people.
When DC first came out with the album they said, Ima put it in caps for ya: (THIS CD IS A STORY ABOUT A WOMAN AND HER RELATIONSHIP WITH HER MAN, AND THE OUTCOME OF IT)!!!!!! If you did not catch that, then that may be the reason why you can not get the flow of the CD.
From begining to end the ladies were telling us a story. Do I have to break it down to ya???
They talked about what type of man they wanted (Soilder)
To how he could not keep up in bed (Loose My Breath)
And now that they have their Soilder, how she wants to treat him (Cater 2 U)
To how she misses him when he is gone (T- shirt)
To why he doesn't act the same, and seems to no longer be interested anymore (Is She The Reason)
And how he cheated on her w/ some one else, and her friends are tryin to tell her she needs to let him go(Girl)
To how they cant let go of a cheating man (Bad Habit)
And how they finally let him go and how hes gonna miss her (If)
To how they are rid of him (Free)
And how they were so hurt by what he did and now they are (Through With Love)
To how they finally met some one who really cares for them so now they have found true (Love)
That is the whole CD in a Nutshell. If you could not follow the CD then this may help.........So now you can re-listen to the CD and hopefully it will help. I really think the CD was very creative in how it was put together about women go through relationships w/the good and bad. I can listen to the CD all the way through. So my opion is listen to the words and the CD in its entirty and then decide if you like it.

While this review is for all, it is somewhat geared for those in the 25-35 range. You know who you are. You remember what it was like to hear and see New Kids on the Block everywhere. You loved "Soldier of Love," only to reel in horror when you found out it was Donny Osmond. Now, 10 years later, you find yourself liking the Backstreet Boys. What to do? Put away any shame you might feel and go buy Millennium. Be proud you picked a quality piece of music that features wonderful orchestration, depth and range of style and emotion, fun and well thought out lyrics, and great vocal harmonics.
With 5 major hits already, you can't go wrong purchasing this release, even if the rest wasn't as great. But there's no fear of that -- these are 12 gems you be singing along with for a long time. "Larger Than Life" is a huge power dance tune with great lyrics and an undeniable groove, I've car danced to this song frequently on my commute. A smooth groove, "I Want It That Way" is a boppy ballad with great harmonics that are fun to sing along with. "Show Me the Meaning of Being Lonely" is a power ballad that features strong orchestration, vocals and lyrics. "It's Gotta Be You" is a funky dance groove with great attitude for the dance floor. A silky smooth ballad that features beautiful piano and vocals, "I Need You Tonight" will send chills down your spine with its emotional power. "Don't Want You Back" is a fantastic power attitude song that features funky syncopation and a great chorus. Though it might sound trite, "Don't Wanna Lose You Now" is a fantastic ballad that features powerful orchestration and vocal harmonies. "The One" is another fun, uplifting, sway-along dance tune that creates a great positive attitude. The final 4 songs are ballads, however these are much lower-key in orchestration, allowing the Boys to showcase their vocal and harmonic depth. "Back to Your Heart" features minimal guitar and percussion; the depth comes from the richness of the Boys' voices. With little orchestration, "Spanish Eyes" concentrates on the harmonies, however they seem a bit off and strained. "No One Else Comes Close" is nice with really great backing vocals, and kudos for the bridge key change. We conclude with "The Perfect Fan" which has an anthemic feel with its power orchestration elements and a backing choir that help heighten the emotional intensity of this beautiful ballad dedicated to mothers everywhere.
Doing a review of this CD is somewhat out of character for me. I have had this CD for less than a year. And I am not a BSB fan; I didn't buy their first album, and I don't know any of their names and couldn't pick them out of a lineup. However, what BSB have released here is a strong piece of pop music for the new millennium. This isn't a release you can simply listen to once and then put back on the shelf. It will be interesting to see 10 years down the road, but I have a strong feeling this CD will still be with many of us and bring fond memories. While originally thinking I'd give it 4 stars (since it's so new to my collection), this most recent listen convinces me that a low 5 star rating is really in order -- it really is that solid.
My recommendation is if you've liked what you've heard on the radio thus far, you can't go wrong buying this CD. Forget the fact that they are the most recent boy band that every teen and pre-teen girl in America is screaming over. Forget the fact they get probably way too much air play on MTV and the Top 40 stations. Get away from the kids or friends who play this release 24/7. Give it a serious listen by yourself, and you will come to realize there is no shame in admitting you like BSB. Beyond all the hype, they really do have talent. And how many pop stars can you truly say that about?
Stand proud with your copy of Millennium. It really is a great addition to any pop music collection.

8701 Review

(More customer reviews)After the multi plantinum selling, "My Way", other than the Usher "Live" CD, you hadn't heard too much from him. "All About U" was supposed to be released earlier this year, but after "Pop Your Collar" didn't get too many rave reviews and once his CD was leaked on to Napster, Usher and his label decided that the best thing to do was to go back into the studio for a second time. "8701" is probably a better product because of this. Even when Usher came out I knew he had potential. "Can U Get Wit It" and "Think Of You" were always favorites of mine back in the day. "My Way" spawned the hits "U Make Me Wanna", "Nice & Slow" and the title track. "Bedtime" was also a favorite of mine. "8701" really sounds like a "My Way" Part 2, which isn't bad at all. The 1st single "U Remind Me" is more like what people expect from Usher. It is a nice laidback midtempo song produced by Edmund Clement and it is currently #1 on the Billboard charts. "Pop Ya Collar" had nothing on this song at all. Usher has a lot of potential singles on this CD. The Neptunes produced, "I Don't Know" w/P Diddy is a nice collaboration between the two. You know it's a Neptunes beat as soon as the song comes on. Even if you have two left feet like I do, you will be trying to get on the dance floor while this song is on. "U Got It Bad" is definitely reminiscent of "Nice And Slow". The Jermaine Dupri and Bryan-Michael Cox produced slow jam, will have you saying "It's 7'o clock, on the dot, I'm in my drop top..." all over again. Bryan-Michael Cox also produced or collaborated with JD on most of Jagged Edge's slow jams on "Jagged Little Thrill". "U Got It Bad" is well put together and is defintely going to be a hit. However, the best song on "8701" and my current favorite is "Can U Help Me". Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis produced this slow jam and this is the best slow song that I have ever heard from Usher. This has a potential of being a single as well but it depends on how many are released from this CD. Other songs worth checking out are the Jimmy Jam, Terry Lewis & James Wright "How Do I Say", the Neptunes produced "U Don't Have To Call" and the Babyface & Jermaine Dupri produced, "If I Want To" where Usher boasts "If I wanted, I could take you from your man." With Chili from TLC following you everywhere, I guess you can say something like that. Overall, Usher has impressed me with "8701". He is showing his growth as an artist and his fans will be pleased.
