(More customer reviews)I was thinking of giving this cd 4 stars but no- it's a five star deserver. This was the first cd I ever heard of them, I heard it at work one day and loved it. My co-worker gave it to me but I really didn't appreciate it until later. I used to only listen to the songs "Engel" and "Du Hast" but then it broke and I had to get it again. Now, with a brand new copy, I am content at last and listen to the whole cd with much love and affection. The first version I had contained two bonus tracks: English versions of "Engel" and "Du Hast" whereas my new cd contains the one bonus track "Stripped". Let's get started, shall we?
1. Sehnsucht (Longing): Longing is so cruel! You were right when you wrote these lyrics, Till. This starting song of the cd is just so BAM! It's got the perfect amount of energy and umph that every cd needs to capture ones' attention. I loved the mixed in wailing/singing voice in the background. It's just so catchy. Everyone with me now: "Sehnsucht!" >O
2. Engel (Angel): "God knows I don't want to be an angel" states the lyrics during the chorus. This is like, the only song I know where they have a woman singing with them. I wonder what happened off cd between the singers... OH! Sorry. Um, it's a really clever song, I love the whistling that Flake mixed in. Probably a keyboard filter, but you never know. In the english version they had to re-write the lyrics and so I didn't care for it as much. When a band has to change what their song is about to appeal to other people that's just sad. We should all be open to everything.
3: Tier (Beast): The song about the beast that dwells inside every man. Ooooh, catchy and fast with a great opening and chorus. Again great mixing in and FX throughout the song. Clever and smashing.
4: Bestrafe Mich (Punish me): When I first heard this cd I knew nothing about the band and thought that there were two people singing together until I got it again and realized it's just ONE PERSON: Till, one of my idols now-a-days. His vocals here are INCREDIBLE- or incredible enough to sound like two seperate people @_@ This song has great music to it too and altogether it one of the best on the cd.
5: Du Hast (You Have): Not to be confused with the word "Hasst" which means "Hate" This song is a lyrical genious to me (despite the repetetivity). The song is about getting married and has german plays on words in it, so when they did an english version, again they had to re-write it and it lost the impact *cries* It has a beautiful melody and is just marvelous. This song was also what got them reknowned over in america.
6: Buck Dich (Bend Down): Gotta love this song. It's so catchy and though I haven't seen I hear that the live performance is scandalous (laughs evily) It's great and has very good lyrics as well. The music is so cool and again has great mixings on it. Till's speaking is so rythmic its fabulous.
7: Spiel Mit Mir (Play With Me) This song has one of the creepiest melodies I've ever heard. It belongs in some scary movie (they're on a lot of soundtracks, so it probably is somewhere) A song about incest- but it's really good despite that. Really! It's so brooding and foreboding.
8: Klavier (Piano): This is my favorite song on the cd actually. I think I have a habit of liking the odd songs of theirs best. This song is the prettiest on this album and has INCREDIBLE words. It's so touching and poniant. The earnest melody line and double vocals Till does (along with some beautiful deep humming) are spectacular. The song is about a boy watching a girl play the piano and he kills her. It gives me goosebumps listening to this song it's so haunting. The best line is when he says "And when she played I held my breath" giving it this feeling of anticipation and expectance at the same time of turmoil. It's great.
9: Alter Mann (Old Man): This song has some incredible lyrics as well. I love how they can mix their music so that they play mega-heavy guitar riffs but still make it a slow pretty song. You know you're a good musician when you can accomplish this. This song is about learing a lesson from an old man. Toughtful and brilliantly done. You know sometimes I think I compliment this band too much, but they really do a good job with their music!
10: Eifersucht (Jealousy): Ah, no gothic band is complete without writing a song on this topic! This time Jealousy is a cannibalistic cuissine! Hurray! Declaring lines like "I am more handsome; cut up my face" and what not he reduces himself down to a tasty hacked up meal. This song is not for those of weak heart, or else just never read the translations.
11: Kuss Mich (Fellfrosch) (Kiss Me {Furfrog}) Ah, an interesting song to say the least. It's really got a super catchy chorus and has the strangest sound FX I've ever heard them use, sounding like a cartoon is playing in the background or something. It's really catchy and has a great piano/techno mixed solo that lasts a few seconds but is really good! This is a good cruising song. I can totally drive in the car jamming to this- which may not be exactly safe, but is enjoyable.
And the optional:
12: Stripped: I believe this is a remake actually, but that doesn't make it any less good. It's great- in fact it's the most addictive of their songs I've ever heard. After only listening to it twice I had this song in my head for a week- and so did my sister and brother and they'd only heard it once. It's catchy and the vocals are really cool. So is the keyboards and the guitars on this song. It's really was a good choice to cover, if that's what it is. Another really good techno solo provided by Flake. And TADA! We're finished; it's time to push the repeat button and listen to this cd again- trust me, you'll want to!

Marilyn Manson Gift Set (Live CD & Video) Review

Inside you will find one copy on cd of the last tour on earth cd and excellent live documentation of 1999s craziest tour featuring alot of Marilyn talking before songs. Also included is god is in the tv with almost all of their videos plus a bonus hours worth of live footage. This would be a great gift for a Manson fan who probably doesn't have these two items...ie someone who just owns the albums. Also included is a poster with the graphics from god is in the tv and Last tour on earth. I can only hope that our society continues to produce artists who question and challenge the listener (viewer) as much as Brian and the boys. Long Live MM

WWIII (World War III) Review

(More customer reviews)I personally enjoyed last year's KMFDM comeback album "ATTAK". I thought the drum & bass influences added another dimension to the band's traditional industrial sound, not to mention sounded different for the band. I have been eagerly anticipating "World War III" for the past month or two. Like "ATTAK", I just had to buy the band's new album on the day it was released. I must admit that I miss Tim Skold's presence on the new album. I always loved it whenever he had the opportunity to sing on past albums (i.e "Anarchy", "Save Me", "Risen"). Nevertheless, his absence wasn't going to rain on my parade. When I first looked at the tracklist for "World War III", the first thing that came to my mind was our dear ol' president, especially songs like "Moron", "Pity For the Pious", and "Revenge". Totally appropo considering the current events in the past several months and certainly describes our current commander in chief IMO. Despite Tim Skold being gone, I enjoyed "World War III" immensely. I am just glad to see Lucia is back on board again for the band's new album for Sanctuary Records. And of course Sascha, Raymond, and the rest of the KMFDM gang. On my initial listen to the cd, my response was merely lukewarm but as I am listening to the cd for the second time at the office, I find myself getting more and more into the music. The tracks that did stand out for me the first time I listened to the cd are "Stars & Stripes", "Revenge", and "Intro". I especially loved "Intro" given the wicked sense of humor that KMFDM is well known for. When I threw in "WWIII" again into my PC, I started getting more into songs like "From Here On Out" and "Blackball" in particular. The overall sound on "WWIII" is certainly is a lot more tighter than on "ATTAK". I think the touring really helped the band to tighten up their sound after a brief break up. The music certainly has become more aggressive. I was not disappointed whatsoever with "WWIII". It is certainly one of the best albums of this year, and the best industrial record of 2003.

Volkerball (Limited Edition) Review

General:
When Rammstein released Voelkerball this past November, I was disappointed to learn there was no America release date. However, frankly that doesn't matter, as even though this DVD is "Imported", it is fully compatible with my NTSC Region 1 DVD player. Also, it may say 3-6 weeks for shipping, but may it be known that I received my copy in under a week.
The DVD:
Overall amazing, in my opinion the best Rammstein Live DVD yet. It makes up for the bad filming of Live Aus Berlin and the overall lackluster of Lichtspielhaus. The actual full length concert was filmed in Nimes, France, but there are also live performances from London, Moscow, and Tokyo. If you are at all hesitant to buy this DVD, based on the fact it has no "new" material, I would strongly recommend you go ahead anyway as Rammstein Live is nothing like their studio albums. They sound infinitely better!

Influence magically combines hypnotic beats, riviting guitar distortion, and symphonic programming into the industrial masterpiece of 2003. I'd offer an analogy or comparison, but it's uniqueness requires a listen to finalize your opinion.

Zombie Live Review

(More customer reviews).....a few weeks ago, this was supposed to be a cd-dvd with a great art-book. As it turns out, no art-book (that I can go without) and, even worse, no dvd (that annoyed me quite a bit). That's right : no live footage, no animated videos. It seems that the live dvd will be released around spring 2008. In other words : we'll have to wait four or six more months before it comes out. So, yes, this live album is awsome, it rocks hard and Rob Zombie is still a genius. But it's not the audio/visual fest I was waiting for. However, I must insist on one point : this live album is f**king great. And sorry about my bad english : I'm from europe and doing my best.

Rammstein - Lichtspielhaus Review

(More customer reviews)First it was October. Then December. Now it's finally January and I actually have Lichtspielhaus in my hands. Oh sweet lord. Any Rammstein fan needs this. And even if you don't like Rammstein, buy it anyway. I've been a fan for years now and I cannot see any true fan without this DVD.
The DVD itself is packed full of eye candy to keep you entertained. The entire interface is 3D, which gives it a very high-quality that is hard to come by when you get a DVD based on a band. Overall, the DVD is 3 1/2 hours long. Amazing. There's the videos (which are works of art), live videos, making of the videos, and a few other things stuffed in. Thus begins my review:
THE VIDEOS:
If this DVD has only the music videos and nothing else, it'd still be worth every penny. This isn't some "lets sing along" style video, its a performance. A 5 minute movie if you will. No other band has been able to incorporate their music into their videos with such passion. Whether it's Ich Will or Du Riechst so Gut, you'll be amazing the whole way through.
LIVE FOOTAGE:
Without seeing Rammstein live, you're missing half of the Rammstein experience. Their show is like no other, with enough fire and pyrotechnics to set a large city ablaze. Lichtspielhaus has videos from 1996 to 2001 as well as MTV Performances. The earlier shows are interesting because it shows how they really started and what their earlier visuals were. In my own opinion, the Mutter tour was better. The songs had more feeling, the crowd more into it, and the whole "technological" feeling to it was amazing. For people like me, they have "Links 2-3-4" and "Ich Will" live from the Velredome. Amazing.
MAKING OF:
When you think of Rammstein, you may think they're angry all the time (maybe like Till). It's these making of videos that show who Rammstein really is and how they act outside of the tours and music. The "Making of Ich Will" was easily the best video there is because it tackles many of the problems the public has given them. There's also "Sonne" and "Links 2-3-4" as well as other ones like "Du Hast". Very nice.
MISCELLANEOUS:
There are also a few commercials put into the mix. The best is, of course, "Achtung! Wir Kommen". In this video, it shows how Rammstein has spread all over Europe. The other videos are very short and are just short clips promoting their albums.
Overall, the best DVD I own. If you like Rammstein, you need this.

The Golden Age Of Grotesque Review

(More customer reviews)This is a new Manson for a new era. This is definitly not a repeat of his past albums. This has been the first time in a long time that Manson has had to make an album that could stand on it's own. After finally completing the story he created with Anti-Christ Superstar and finished with 2002's Holy Wood, Manson has a chance to explore new musical ground as well as reinvent his image a bit. Manson explores 1930's Berlin-esque era in his lyrics and appearance. Throwbacks to the Swing dancing sensation, Nazism, and Dadaism are littered throughout the confrontational ("Use your fist and not your mouth")and cynical, sexually-doused lyrics in this CD, which fit well with the music. The music itself is the usual Manson-esque rock mixed with a large dose of synth and other effects, probably due to new bassist Tim Skold, which completely helps the album in almost all areas. These effects do a very good job of envoking pictures to accompany the music. Sometimes one can't help but picture Tim Burton claymation-esque characters marching along to anthems like the title track and the intro Thaeter. The also setup moods for such songs like "(s)aint" and "The Bright Young Things", both of which are sure to surprise the listener (but none like the track "Doll-Dagga Buzz Buzz Ziggety-Zagg", which is a loud galloping example of Manson-meets 30's era swing music. A treat for the ears, definitely).
Manson succeeds in making a frightful, rambunctious, powerful and wonderful album that can definitely stand on it's own. However, one must remember that Manson is not taking himself as seriously this time, but is still very clever with his lyrics (probably now more than ever). All in all, this is one of Manson's best, and definitely worth buying.

Hellbilly Deluxe 2 (Special Edition)(CD/DVD) Review

(More customer reviews)First off if your a huge Zombie fan then you should love this album. It seems to me that a lot of people quite don't understand his style and i understand it's not for everybody but those who do understand how his brain works will love the sequel to Hellbilly Deluxe. With that said it's also important to know that this album won't sound like the first Hellbilly because it's a different band and a different decade. I loved the Industrial stuff Zombie did in the 90's and miss it at times on his new album but when you have a guitar god like John 5 in your band you just have to use him. Another great thing about John 5 is that he brings a wide range of sounds and styles to Zombie that I find very refreshing. To me Devil's Hole Girls and the Big Revolution has a old White Zombie feel to it because of the main riff. You have a mix of heavy songs, fist pumping songs and some awesome halloween 60's groove songs like the new Michael song about Michael Myers. Everything is Boring is a song that fits nicely on the album and the chorus has been stuck in my head the past couple days. I like that the acoustic intro to Mars Needs Women is a song all by itself now so if you want you can just skip right to the beginning of the drums and the lyrics. Even the middle of The Man Who Laughs is cool because it breaks into a kind of arabian gypsy kind of guitar sound which again just shows the various styles of music John 5 can play. Essentially the Special Edition is Hellbilly Deluxe II on steroids. It has three new killer songs and the changes made have only improved the cd.
The only bummer was the dvd part. I was hoping it would include the music video to Sick Bubblegum as well as some entire live performances off the recent tour but you only get bits of it here and there in the documentary which i feel could of been better. I was hoping for a documentary that left you with the feel of what it's like to go on tour with these guys from rehearsing, to traveling and performing. Instead you get a couple cool scenes and a lot of weird stuff like slurpy machines and close ups of pouring coffee and i don't know it was just weird, I wanted more talking. Essentially just a bunch of random stuff edited together that left me wanting more.
Overall I'm very glad with this Special Edition. The album was good originally and it sounds even better now. The only improvement to me would be the the dvd features. Having just seen them during Mayhem Fest and knowing they recorded those shows I would rather of had a live concert dvd instead because that tour was epic.

Hellbilly Deluxe Review

(More customer reviews)Hellbilly Deluxe confirms several things that many of us suspected all along. One: Rob Zombie was pretty much the sole creative contributor to White Zombie. Two: Zombie has watched waaay too many "B" monster movies.
Strangeness notwithstanding, "Hellbilly" has a pile of great songs. "Superbeast" is a chest-pounder, kicking the record off to an adrenaline-fueled start. "Living Dead Girl" and "Spookshow Baby" are personal favorites, showcasing some melody, some diversity, and Zombie's excellence in lyric writing. "Meet the Creeper" and "The Ballad of Resurrection Joe and Rosa Whore" are also excellent songs.
The album runs the gamut from slow to fast, hard to, er... less hard, but never loses it's pop-culture influenced sense of humor. Rob Zombie has captured a bit of Alice Cooper and the Tubes' ability to have fun onstage while still making great music that resonates with it's fans.
Sellout? Nah... Zombie would have to produce a boy band to truly sell out. "Hellbilly Deluxe" is one for the rock record books.

Liebe Ist Für Alle Da (Dlx) (Dig) Review

(More customer reviews)The New Rammstein album. All the fans have been waiting for ages for the album to come out. But, finally: Here it is. Should we be happy; I would say: yes! Worth waiting for. Let's start off with the review of the tracks. At first I would like to say that I also would go into the lyrics(luckily I master German), which are great! Very solid album, worth 4.5 stars.
1. Rammlied
The improved version of "Rammstein"(the track of Herzeleid). More aggresive, faster, sounding better and it "works" better. The intro is great and the lyrics show you that your waiting was not for nothing. "Wer wartet mit Besonnenheit; der wird belohnt am rechten Zeit. Nun das warten hat ein ende"(Who waits with composure, will be rewarded. Well, the waiting has come to an end). YOU as listener are rewarded for your patience. In the track they also mention that they are BACK! At the Bridge Till Lindemann is shouting out his "EIN RICHTUNG!!!" etc. verse; it sounds a bit like Hitler's Ein Volk, Ein Reich, Ein Fuhrer, but I'm sure as heck that Rammstein did this intentionally: They WANT to be controversial, even though they are NOT nazis.
2. Ich Tu Dir Weh
I hurt you; I don't feel sorry, it feels good to me, when you're screaming! That's essentially what the chorus says. It's "funny"; so absurd; just great. The main riff is catchy as well as the whole song. One of my personal favorites of the album. It's about someone who loves him; but he doesn't love the other one. Actually the person Till sings about is being torture badly. "Bei dir hab ich die Wahl der Qual"; a nice word play. Usually in German it is "qual der wahl"(the problem of choice; which one to pick??), in this case it's the other way around: which way should he choose in order to hurt the person in question. Anyway, back to the song itself: the production of this song is very solid; one of the tracks you would listen over and over again!
3. Waidmann's Heil
A song about hunting in my opinion since "The Creature must die!". It sounds a bit heroic and the beginning, coming to the riff, which is so good compared to Rosenrot for instance. Just a quick moment of reflection; if you would place this album into a time period I would place in the gap between Sehnsucht and Mutter(according to the style of music etc.). The song is solid with some nice drum accents and Flake with his keyboard.
4. Haifisch
Not a bad song, nor the best. It's about sharks; crying into the sea. You can't see the tears since they are in the water and it is the reason why the sea is salt. It's quite an empty song, with a quite easy riff and some accents of Flake. The chorus is quite good with vocal back-up like we know from Rammstein(a bit like Morgenstern, but more on the background).
5. Buckstabu
The word is basically made-up and it stands for nothing; just like Till says: "Don't do it, Let it be, don't touch it, just say no", coming down to the same point. The song starts a bit "dark". The riff is great with a good bass guitar and same dark piano accents. The chorus is wild and raw: GREAT, Rammstein like we used to know them! The chorus is backed up with great guitar intervention at the end. The bridge is also vocally very strong. The solid production comes forward once more.
6. Fruhling in Paris
At first I thought that Rammstein would nick the "Springtime in Paris" rhythm of the Jazz song, but no. An unplugged intro. The lyrics are in French and German. The main thing he(Till) says is that he doesn't feel sorry for anything. Personally I think this is the weakest track of the whole album. I don't want to spend much of my words to this song because I like to move on the good tracks!
7. Wiener Blut
Blood of Vienna basically. It's about the story of a young girl, trapped under the house of a certain Austrian guy(Jozef Fritzl). The lyrics are truly with a double bottom. It's sound all great(love nest beneath the house etc.), but the chorus reveals the true nature of the song: "Welcome to the darkness, the solitude and the sadness; for eternity. Welcome to reality!". The song is built up great. With an intro of: Come with me to my castle into my basement of love etc.. Then the song starts off properly, showing the reality of the story. Pure musical strength in my opinion; being able to mix everything together and expressing the correct feelings with the music, the way they intended it, and the way it should be.
8. P*ssy
It's not just a bad song, with a vulgar music video. It HAS a message. It's about people getting out of the country to have cheap sex in countries like Thailand etc. Mercedes Benz, the freeway. "Driving abroad on my own, travel travel, driving pleasure. I just want to have fun, I don't wanna fall in love. Just a little bit, be my little b*tch". The text is ironic as well; I can't get laid in Germany. Some double bottom lines like: lightning war with the flesh gun, stick my sausage in your sauerkraut and so on! You can see that this is the single. It's maybe the most accessible track of the album and the lyrical content is not that hard(a lot of chorus).
9. Liebe Ist Fur Alle Da
Love is there for all. The album title track. Not the best track in my opinion. The chorus is good though. The lyrics are quite confusing. Love is there for all; not for me, but later on he says the opposite. It might be that he's telling stories from different perspectives. The music is less good than the rest of the album, the normal riff doesn't go like an oiled machine. The guitar solo is typical Rammstein.

More! To me this sounds like the culture of grabbing everything there is to grab, even when it has no use. This song is inspired on the global economic crisis, so I think. The song is built up like it should be. Intro, drums and the "violence" rolls on! Quite a good song.
11. Roter Sand
Red Sand. It starts of with someone whistling. When you've heard it once, you'll whistle it yourself. Then some dark guitar tunes pop up. It's a love story with a dramatic end. They both had guns(Two pistols, two rounds), but one pulled quicker, one died, the other one survived(It's deep in my chest). The song is great in his simplicity. The song just expresses the correct feelings once again. It just fits all together somehow. Just great!
And now... CD 1 has ended, but luckily you've bought the DLX version, so you will be rewarded even more. 5 More tracks await you. At first, a quick review of disc one. Solid, the old Rammstein seems to be back. Even Rammstein themselves call it a comeback. This album is the one that will make Rosenrot dissapear. With all due respect, the album Rosenrot was just made up from album take-outs of Reise Reise and some other recordings that didn't make it to an album. The normal version is worth buying but the 2 disc version(for just a couple of bucks more) is even worth more. With a nice booklet and deluxe cardboard package(which works quite complicated though; you have to practice how to fold it back).
Now disc two; five more tracks. Fuhre mich(Lead me) is first. It starts of mysteriously dark again. This really is a good track with some subtle details and a really (vocally) good chorus. Some "opera" features are in it as well. Donaukinder comes next(this track has some dark lyrics as well. Missing kids, a river, rats satisfied with food, poisoned water springs...this suggests that something happened to those kids(probably decomposing) at the Donau river; but like the chorus says: "where are they? Nobody knows what has happened here" ), also a good track which will give you the feeling you want more. This truly sounds like Rammstein from the days of wayback somehow. Halt is up next; sounds dark(again!), good track once again. Good chorus and again (sorry for mentioning this over and over again) sounds like the old Rammstein! The Roter Sand orchestra version is not very different from the normal version and could be more differing in order to make it better in my opinion. Still, it is a good track. Last one; Liese. Starts of with the whistling theme again. Has the same intro as Roter Sand(Orchestra) but with different lyrics. Also good, good vocal work!
Concluding to this; if you are only slightly interested or "made warm" for this album, do NOT hesitate to buy it; because it will be worth your money. This album can be played over and over again without getting boring. The only drawbacks are Fruhling in Paris and the fact that the second disc only contains 5 tracks. For the rest of it: Great. Four and a half stars: ****+

I got into Orgy when they released Vapor Transmission & was blown away- taken as a whole this album was near perfection to me- I went to see them twice on that tour. Am I a fan? Well, I am a fan of Vapor. (Candyass is a solid release; I'm not that thrilled with PunkStatik). Since 2003 I remember seeing on the band's website that they were planning a DVD...I kept waiting and waiting... The more time passed, the more impatient I became. I knew there was a lot of good footage to be had to put out a live DVD (I remember seeing an awesome live internet broadcast of the band playing songs for the release of Vapor, which was so well produced I just knew this would have to make it's way into the DVD release...NOT).
The DVD is mostly (95%) of the band behind the scenes/backstage, or getting ready to go on stage. The "live" concert footage you do get to see is mostly all the quality of a hand-cam bootleg. What happened to all the professionally recorded concert footage? You'll see the members getting drunk, being goofy, filming videos, having their eyebrows waxed, etc. At some point I said to myself that this surely must be a joke.
This is going to be difficult for me to say, but I feel so insulted that the band would release something so sub-par. It really boils my blood. Watching this DVD had me wading through the band's goofiness in search of one little morsel of music. When that music comes, it's usually badly recorded live audio which then cuts into the actual audio from their CD's. I already have their CD's, I don't need, nor appreciate this. Or, as is typical with this DVD: You'll see the band getting all hyped for a live show: being led to the stage & once on the stage you'll catch 10 seconds of them starting a song and then it cuts back to more backstage silliness.
I kept telling myself "This has to get better" and when they would show Amir prepping a guitar lick for a song I had some hope- finally some decent behind the scenes footage of them laying down studio tracks, but this would last 10 seconds & then go back to the band doing everything under the sun (except performing).
I'm going to give the band the benefit of the doubt and assume this DVD was released to satisfy their own self-serving needs and that they plan to follow it up with an actual live concert DVD (which I've been waiting a few years for).
The DVD includes their music videos, all the aforementioned footage and a dreadful navigation menu that merely chops this disc up according to each album.
Unless you are a diehard fan, AVOID! If you are looking for a professional concert, look elsewhere.

(More customer reviews)Rammstein is back!!! Those insane, Teutonic, metal-spewing, fire engulfed Germans are back and with quite a bang!!! This cd is definitely a change of sound for the Industrial Metal band that made it big in the states a few years back with Sehnsucht (their second album). Rammstein, in Mutter, shows their audience that they can really put forth the goods and not be repetitive, as most metal bands are.
Peppering Mutter with a large dose of orchestral influence blended with eerily voiced lyrics and a healthy dose of grinding guitars, creepy samples, and superbly formatted songs, the group from East Germany manages to step up in their creative ladder and form a refreshing sound that brings memories of their past albums but does not become a stereotypical cd.
In this album Rammstein address the public/critics' views of their music in the song Links 234 (the critics once accused Rammstein of Nazism, this is their cleverly disguised retraction to the false claims). Gothic, classical influence is pleasantly explored in Sonne(Sun) and Nebel(Fog)to extremely good results. A sense of fantastical horror is meticulously threaded in the tunes, Mein Herz Brennt(My Heart Burns) and Spieluhr(Music Box)which, in my personal opinion are the paragon of the album. Fast metal, with a new and crunching melody, can be found in fascinating Zwitter(Hermaphrodite), Rein Raus(In Out), Adios(a very successful punk sound is played out here), Feur Frei(Fire!!), and the incomparable Ich Will(I Want). A very dramatic mode of metal is accomplished in the title track Mutter(Mother) which seeps with sorrow and a heavy pessimism but also has a very important message behind it.
Overall this album proves Rammstein's most intriguing work as the band delves into musical lands they had yet to uncover and do so with no failure. Fans of the past will find the album refreshing and most astounding. Newcomers will discover Rammstein as no one has ever seen them before, fully matured in their music and at their height(so far, at least) of their talent. Mutter has been waited for for nearly four years and Rammstein did not fail their fans in delivering the goods. A definite MUST BUY!! Even for those who are not particularily partial to German music this proves to be an album on which to make an exception. Fantastic, overwhelming, and spellbinding, don't miss it!!!

There are many more shorts in The Death Parade including various concert footage, backstage happenings, lots of nudity, and religious people in the streets trying to ban Manson's concerts.
The total running time is approxamately 107 minutes. Audio options for the DVD include Stero, 5.1 and DTS. Overall, a very good show from Marilyn Manson. He puts a lot of energy into his shows and you'll see it on this DVD. So much energy that after the concert is over, he can't even stand on his own two feet! If you are a fan, you will not be disappointed. In the words of Manson, "This will help you see what it's like to be nailed to this wrecking ball".

I found (in the case of my DVD sound set up)that the Live Passage Tour 1996 in Krakow, Poland show on DVD 2 is much more listenable than the main concert. The bootleg isn't something you can really listen to, unless you've drunk a six-pack or something! Overall, considering the relative cost - if you must have some live Samael the Krakow concert will probably be the main one you listen to.

(More customer reviews)This CD is that live CD with the tour with KoRn and the bands that were related to them the most in 1998. So Videodrone isn't on here. But they got Limp Bizkit on here who gave KoRn their demo disc in '97 to get them a record label, Rammstein, their German friends, Incubus, fellow record label buds, Orgy, the first band on KoRn's record label, and Ice Cube, the rapper on "Childeren of The KoRn." Now I was perticularly interested in this tour cuz I'm a big fan of KoRn, I also really like Incubus and Orgy. Rammstein would be next in line. Limps' aight, and Ice Cube, well I ain't much in rap, but he's one of the good rappers out there. But this live CD is a great complication of all bands I like with 5 interludes, Incubus playing the S.C.I.E.N.C.E. smash "New Skin," Rammstein with their big single in the states, "Du Hast," 2 $3 Limp songs plus a House of Pain song, Ice Cub with a mix of his songs and N.W.A. songs, Orgy with their remarkible makings, and a whole lot of songs from the band we're all here for. But this had to be he best tour on earth with the audience connection and the great CD complication. Limp Bizkit also made a tour like this one, actually, a repeat. It's okay, but I'm not as interested in Primus, Filter, Staind, and Method Man as the ones on here. And KoRn is on there too. Not as if it wasn't great.

Adios... Puta Madres: Ministry Final World Tour (2009) Review

(More customer reviews)I have been a fan of Ministrys since "With Sympathy" and i grew as they did into harder music. I love the trip as a Ministry fan went on. We went from pop to what became industrial to what became industrial metel to Metel. And this DVD is the final show for us fans. What an amazing show it is. Great choice of songs, thoe i would of liked to seen them try to rework some very early stuff off say "Twitch" , just for guys like me that have followed them for so long, but they do do a few oldies and rock out with songs like "Breath" and "stigmata". Its a great show and great way of saying good by to one of Americas great bands. For me i often wonder if it wasnt for Ministry and wax trax would there be a NIN or KMFDM. Hmmm i kinda doont think so; but who cares we have them and it was a great Ministry ride and the final show is a great testement to there power.
The added bihind the scenes dvd is fun also, to acually see footage of Al at work, even if the work is a bottle of wine. Good studff all around. If your a Ministry fan this is a must. If not well then why are you reading this.
