(More customer reviews)This is an incredible CD together with a beautiful book detailing the rehearsals and performances from the 1970 documentary, "ELVIS THAT'S THE WAY IT IS". Hear and see Elvis behind the scenes, as well as on stage. Many unreleased tracks and never before seen photos. This is a must for any true Elvis fan!

(More customer reviews)This double CD, Follow That Dream Records' June, 2009 release, chronicles Elvis' May 30-June 1, 1975 stand in Huntsville, AL where the King gave five sold-out performances. The bulk of these discs are comprised of the 5/31 matinee and the 6/1 evening show plus six bonus tracks from two other shows that were not performed at the two main concerts. The soundboard recordings begin with the third song of the evening, "Love Me", as Elvis' engineers rarely recorded the nightly openers, "See See Rider" and "I Got A Woman"/"Amen" (although the latter is included as a bonus track on the second disc).
Elvis' energy level is high and his voice is strong throughout, with the 5/31 matinee being an exceptional aural treat. "The Wonder Of You", "Burning Love", a brief rendition of "Trouble", "Hawaiian Wedding Song", and an impromptu version of "For The Good Times" are among the highlights. Elvis juggles the set a bit the following night, with four changes, the most interesting being a blistering "Polk Salad Annie" which takes the place of an aborted "Burning Love" when he has trouble remembering the words. A sweet "I'll Remember You", and, from the bonus tracks, powerful versions of "I'm Leavin'" and "How Great Thou Art" and a spur-of-the-moment "Release Me", coupled with the interplay between Elvis and the crowd demonstrate that both the artist and his audience were having fun. The gatefold packaging, with many previously unseen high-quality photos from the stand and a well-edited, crisp-sounding mix make this a true first class presentation. If you're an Elvis concert collector, this set is as good as it gets.

Elvis was truly inspired by the superb reaction he received in Huntsville, selling out five shows. It's the only time in his career that he did so many consecutive performances in one City.
This live release features concert performances from May 31, 1975 and June 1, 1975 in Huntsville, Alabama. The 2 disc set is packaged in a 5" digipack and includes a 4-color booklet.
