(More customer reviews)I'm sorry but if Stevie Nicks, and Lindsey Buckingham ARE Fleetwood Mac to you, then you are not a fan of Fleetwood Mac, but a fan of Stevie Nicks and/or Lindsey Buckingham, and the work they have done with the Mac. Fleetwood Mac is my favorite band, and I have at least enjoyed (if not loved) everything they have done since 1967. Time is certainly not my favorite Mac album, but it is an enjoyable album nevertheless. It has some extremely cheery and upbeat songs on it, and is perfect for driving on a sunny day.
Christine McVie is my all time favorite Mac member, and all five of her songs are very likeable. Her voice is as strong as ever, and is the saving grace in songs that suffer from somewhat generic songwriting. I definetly prefer Dave Mason's work with Traffic to his Mac efforts, and his song Blow By Blow is probably the worst (or at least the most boring) on the album. He does have a nice singing voice though, and plays some great lead guitar. Bekka Bramlett is in my opinion underrated on this album. Sure the songwriting in her tunes isn't the most inspired work you'll ever hear, but you can't ignore her voice. People who see her as a Stevie Nicks knock off are probably just sore over the absence of Ms. Nicks. Although Bramlett does have a somewhat raspy voice, and I'm sure that this was no coincidence on the part of the band, you can really hear her struggling to find her own little niche here. At times soulful, and others sweet and vulnerable she is a very strong vocalist, and her Dreamin' the Dream is one of my favorite Mac songs (if only for her singing on it). I love Billy Burnette's work with the Mac (more so on the 'Behind the Mask' album than here) but his singing and guitar playing go very well with Bramlett's voice throughout the album. And then of course you have drummer Mick Fleetwood and bassist John Mcvie. It just wouldn't be Fleetwood Mac without them. Not just because they are where the band gets it's name from, but because they provide the music with it's driving rhythm. Their performances are very strong on Time (as they are on any album), and I won't be the first to say that they are one of music's greatest rhythm sections.
I wish that we had heard more form this lineup of Fleetwood Mac because I think that they could have only improved. 'Time' is a good if not great album, and should please real Fleetwood Mac fans who have loved the band through all of the changes that they have undergone.

(More customer reviews)Often the passage of time diminishes the quality or aesthetics of a piece of art; the art (particularly music) becomes "dated." Many recordings from the Seventies--songs that were phenomenally popular--today come across as stale, corny, or contrived.
Anyone remember "You Light Up My Life"?
Such is not the case with Fleetwood Mac's masterpiece, RUMOURS. The energy, emotion, passion, and musical mastery of this album is just as compelling today as it was in 1977. On top of that, today's technology only makes listening to RUMOURS even more of a pleasurable and spellbinding experience.
For me, having been a college student when this album was released, each track from this troubled band is a wondrous trip down memory lane. Among my favorites: "Dreams"; "Don't Stop"; "Silver Springs"; "You Make Loving Fun." And "Go Your Own Way" is musical nirvana, a glimmering, golden rock 'n roll keeper.
The inner turmoil Fleetwood Mac was experiencing when RUMOURS began shattering the Billboard charts received as much publicity as the album itself. Despite the band's dysfunction--or perhaps because of it--members Lindsey Buckingham, Stevie Nicks, Christine McVie, Mick Fleetwood, and John McVie were hitting on all musical/creative cylinders. As a result, RUMOURS is timeless, ageless, and enthusiastically recommended.

The Lord of the Rings: Symphony No. 1 Review

(More customer reviews)First and foremost I would like to advice all reviewer's to understand what they are reviewing before writing any reviews. I am both a musician in a symphony orchestra and wind orchestra. To me each ensemble brings something different to the scene and are special in their own way. In my opinion, Mr Johan De Meij and Mr Howard Shore are fine composers. And their pieces are superb in their own perspective. De Meij's piece was first written for the wind orchestra medium. I've played pieces by Mozart, Saint Saens, Rossini, Stravinsky etc, still this piece is hands down one of my favourites. When transcribed for the symphony orchestra, the piece became different, in a good way, due to the different instrumentation. For the benefit of others, this piece and its transcription were composed and made long before the first LOTR movie hit the cinemas. Also do note that writing music for film and music for performance on stage are two different things altogether. You can't take this piece and fit it into the film and likewise you can't take the whole film score and perform on stage. They were meant for 2 different purposes. So people, please know and understand what you're reviewing before writing anything. Reviews are meant to help too and not just to criticize. If you love music and want to listen to something different, i encourage you to get this cd. But do remember to clear your mind of Howard Shore's score before listening. I have already given the reason why. This is De Meij's interpretation of what he feels about LOTR. It is honest, superb, magnificent and evoking in its own way. Five stars.

Fleetwood Mac: The Dance (1997) Review

(More customer reviews)That's simply unbelievable! I'm definitely not a fan of Fleetwood Mac and you would be ashamed of me if I told you that the only 2 songs of Fleetwood Mac I liked before were "Everywhere" and "The Seven Wonders", the latter being not on the DVD.
That said, I was really intrigued by the other reviews and, baffled, I decided to give it a chance. Ooooh, I wish I had more inspirations like this one!!!
In this concert, shot in the premises of Warner Bros Studios, the band reunited to give the audience the best, the *very* best of themselves, humanly speaking. The old songs are all performed in a new version, giving them an emotional power they didn't have before. Fleetwood Mac also plays stupendous unpublished works, including instrumentals and brand-new songs, which proves that Fleetwood Mac is as sparkling as in the past and, in my opinion, even more sparkling than ever!
Look at Mick Fleetwood! Yeh... look at him! Have you ever seen an old timer like him playing the drums with so much pleasure, conviction and dexterity? I bet that from the very first song ("The Chain"), you'll know what I mean.
Lindsey Buckingham is really impressive. He plays several guitars and even the banjo in the concert and it's a delight to watch him juggling with the notes. You'll be very likely amazed by his solo performance in "Big Love" and "Go insane".
And especially, don't watch the grand finale of "I'm so afraid" with a friend at home. If he falls on the terrific instrumental duet between Mick and Lindsey, his first idea might well be to get the hell out of your house with your DVD in the pocket!!
As for Stevie Nicks, she still has her angel voice. She's very convincing when she sings, because her tone and pitch always match the lyrics but never in an exaggerated way. You'll also notice that she dances like a bird flies, it's so light and aerial. You'll also appreciate Stevie's cheerfulness. When she talks to the public, she sounds so happy to see you there that you really sympathize with her feelings. Why, it makes you feel good!!
I read some reviews saying that Christine Mc Vie had lost the magic of her voice after all these years. Maybe. But I don't care. It is perhaps a pitch lower but she knows how to master it and that's why Christine and her voice will seduce you a long time yet. Just listen to her version of Everywhere: isn't that cute?
Her ex-husband John, because he plays the bass, stays more in the background. That said, he's a great support for Lindsey and shows his great sense of humour when Christine tries to force him to sing with the whole band in "Say You Love Me".
The songs are all absolute gems. Yet you may have difficulties to tackle "My Little Demon", because the tune and the words are weird! I learnt to like it and understand it (a lot of Lindsey's songs have a context related to his life) and I no longer skip it now. Expect a surprise at the end of the concert and don't forget to savour the conclusion song, offered by Christine. You'll be so upset that you'll be mad at them for leaving so soon.
The quality of the DVD is excellent! The sound, Dolby 5.1 or PCM Stereo, is perfect. The picture is clear and flawless. My God, how did they do that?!
You want to be forgiven by your wife? Offer her this DVD! You want to be spoilt by your granny? Ask her this DVD!
Whatever the way you'll get it, watch it in the evening. "It's going to be a special night for us", Stevie Nicks said. For you too.

Wild Heart Review

The Wild Heart was Stevie Nicks' follow up to her platinum selling debut, Bella Donna, and proved that this woman did not need Fleetwood Mac to be successful. Many have said that Bella Donna was Stevie's greatest work, but after listening to this album, I'm not so sure. While Bella Donna was moody and dramatic, The Wild Heart has more rockin' songs and also some of Stevie's best vocals ever. Another point that many have brought up is that Wild Heart is a Bella Donna part 2. I have to disagree with these people. When you listen to the two albums back to back, they are evidently different. On Wild Heart, Stevie began to experiment with synthesizers, which were not in Bella Donna at all. She moved away from the country-ish sound she had on her debut album, to a more pop and rock orientated album.
1. Wild Heart: Stevie's title tracks are known for being epic rockers, and this song is no exception. Stevie even wails a bit at the end, one of my favorite parts of this song. 4/5
2. If Anyone Falls: One of the singles of the album, it made #16 on the pop-charts. It has a nice danceable beat to it, and the harmonies on the chorus are beautiful. 4/5
3. Gate and Garden: This is one of Stevie's songs that has taken a lot of flak over the years because of it's vague lyrics. However, the music and the vocals on this track make it work. 4/5
4. Enchanted: One of my favorite Stevie solo songs. A very nice country/rock feel and the piano is just great. You also get a taste of how powerful Stevie's voice was at this time. 5/5
5. Nightbird: A song written about Stevie's friend Robyn Anderson who had died soon after Stevie had released Bella Donna. This track has some great, dark music to it and I love the line, "I wear boots all summer long." 5/5
6. Standback: The big hit of the album, reaching the #6 spot on the charts. This is definitely one of the highlights of the disc. It surges along on a synthesizer hook and Stevie really rocks this one. 5/5
7. I Will Run To You: The duet with Tom Petty on the album. This is actually a very good song and I prefer it to Stop Draggin' My Heart Around (from Bella Donna). 4/5
8. Nothing Ever Changes: The real rocker on this album. It just has so much energy and Stevie's voice is killer. She sounds so angry and powerful. Also, it has some nice sax and piano work. 5/5
9. Sable on Blonde: This song is just amazing. "To be brave save the stranger...Sable on Blonde." Wow I just love this song, the production is great and the vocals are sublime. 5/5
10. Beauty and the Beast: One of the most moving and beautiful songs Stevie has ever written. Stevie recorded this live with an orchestra, and the result is a haunting, dark ballad. Stevie's voice really shines on this one. And it just might be my favorite on the album. 5/5
There you have it. All in all, I still can't decide which is better, Wild Heart or Bella Donna. Check them out and see for yourself.

High on Emotion - Live From Dublin Review

(More customer reviews)As my ten-year reunion approached last year, I began rummaging through the nostalgia of the late eighties. One of my favorite songs from that era was "Don't Pay the Ferryman". Looking it back up, I dusted off my "High On Emotion" tour tape of Chris de Burgh. This high-energy concert had me updating to cd in no time.
De Burgh was quite high on emotion the night that this album was recorded. He plays right up to the audience putting them in a frenzy giving them what they want. The music is classic eighties flare and will bring back memories. The mixing on this album is spectacular. The band sounds like they are actually playing in your living room, and the crowd can be heard between songs, but is largely absent while the band plays (overly loud crowd noise is an annoyance). The audience only can be heard singing on a couple of tracks.
This live album has a lot of the great songs of de Burghs repertoire. The highlights to this album are "The Revolution", "Last Night", "Spanish Train," "High On Emotion" and my favorite. The immensely popular "Lady In Red" appears here as well, although I never really appreciated it. If you're a fan of eighties music, or would just like a trip down memory lane (or want to see what all the fuss is about), then you would do yourself good taking a listen to this one.

Elton John And Tim Rice's Aida (1999 Concept Album) Review

I bought this CD with the high hopes that it might come across more as a *cast album* that just happens to feature popular artists, as opposed to a soundtrack-ish hodgepodge of musical artists performing songs. While--to my personal disappointment--it was more the latter than the former, I have to give much credit to the CD as an album. Great Elton John songs are captured on the disc with an impressive list of pop genre performers (including Sting, Janet Jackson, James Taylor, and Boyz II Men) and a couple of singers from the actual stage show run (Heather Headley and Sherie Scott).
My main gripes have to do with my wish for an actual cast recording. While I knew that this wasn't going to be anything near a cast recording, I still hoped it wouldn't come across too "pop-ish". So, if you're like me and prefer pure Cast Recordings, you might want to wait until the cast recording is actually released. But if you're curious about the material in this coming-soon-to-Broadway stage show, then buy this CD. Great performances abound, that's for sure.

Lilith Fair - A Celebration of Women in Music (1997) Review

(More customer reviews)Although this is a fine piece of work in general, the advertised 5.1 mix is simply not true. A true 5.1 mix has a wide spatial feel with different sound eliments coming out of the several speakers. This 5.1 mix is an obvious afterthough. The center channel is no more than a mono sum of the left and right channels, and the rear channels are some sort of mish mosh of the stereo mix with some ambience in it. There are also some really odd low frequency artifacts in the rear channels during the dialog and interview segments, due to some sort of unacceptable processing to fool the listener (and buyer) into thinking he is listening to a real 5.1 mix.
I can guarantee that this was a poor marketing decision and not what the remix engineer delivered. I know this because I was the remix engineer, and I was asked to deliver the stereo only mix that was originally done for the broadcast and pay-per-view version.
I encourage buyers to take up issue with DVD distributors who continue to market such poor quality.

Tarzan - The Broadway Musical (Original Broadway Cast) Review

(More customer reviews)First of all, I have to say that I love the movie soundtrack. Ironically, the movie songs here are by far the best ones. And, surprisingly enough, Tarzan's singing (Josh Strickland) is the strongest. Kerchak's (sp?) voice is plain annoying and Jane sounds like a past-her-prime Julie Andrews. Frankly, I'm disappointed with the voices of the cast.

(More customer reviews)Unless Lindsey Buckingham's music is your only reason for listening to Fleetwood Mac, this item is a must-have. Christine and Stevie showcase some of their best work here, including Affairs of the Heart, Freedom, and The Second Time by Stevie, and Skies the Limit and Save Me, excellent efforts by Christine.
One thing that did take me by surprise is how much I really did like the music of the "new" guys, Billy Burnette and Rick Vito. Their music fits very well with what we have come to know as Fleetwood Mac - highlights include Hard Feelings and Stand on the Rock.
In summary, listen to the clips at the bottom of this page; you will not be disappointed.

Spyboy Review

(More customer reviews)This is an astonishing album -- not only does it capture the essence of who Emmylou Harris is (as a singer and songwriter), but it showcases her wonderfully as a live performer. Spyboy is a brilliant title for this live CD. The spyboy is the young lad who leads off the Mardis Gras parade, which is a great metaphor for Harris' career. She has always been at the forefront of defining and redefining the confluence of country, rock, and folk music.
Here, she and her band beautifully reinterpret songs that she has made into classics. My Songbird, a Jesse Winchester gem, is delivered in classic Harris style -- aching, plaintive, and with an air of resignation. It doesn't matter that the song is written in the first person and spoken by a man. This is a haunting and painful song about separation that only Harris could deliver so sweetly.
This theme of pain, separation, and moving on permeates this recording, and is exemplified by such songs as Daniel Lanois' Where Will I Be, the traditional Green Pastures, and her own composition about Gram Parsons, Boulder to Birmingham. But this is not sappy sentimental country-folk-rock. Instead, it is intelligent music making in the same way that is true of other performers such as Richard and Linda Thompson, Mary Black, or Mary Chapin Carpenter.
The aura cast by the musicians is somewhat ethereal, being clearly influenced by Daniel Lanois, long-time producer of U2's recordings, and of Bob Dylan's Oh Mercy. Lanois' influence on Harris is most pronounced in her Wrecking Ball recording, a style that overflows into this live concert. In fact, Harris sings two Lanois compositions, in addition to Deeper Well (a song I have yet to appreciate), which they co-wrote. I have to admit that I'm getting a little tired of the Lanois style (he's also produced a recent Willie Nelson recording), however, there's no denying his success. My other pet peave is that any recording that Lanois produces includes one or two of his songs. He seems great at marketing himself and his production style. Mercifully, a performer like Harris is so transcendental that one doesn't notice such seeming trivialities. Rather, this (or any other Harris recording) is an experience not to be missed.

Tango in the Night Review

(More customer reviews)After the uneventful "Mirage", released in 1982, Fleetwood Mac went on a long hiatus. Stevie Nicks kept on enjoying tremendous solo success, while Christine McVie and Lindsey Buckingham did just fine on their own solo albums. Mick Fleetwood and John McVie, however, both went off the deep end; Fleetwood encountered financial difficulties, while John McVie almost died from alcohol abuse. In other words, some of the band members didn't seem to need Fleetwood Mac that much, but some others did. "Tango in the Night" was born from the tension of trying to answer the eternal question : was it worth all the heartache and trauma to keep Fleetwood Mac alive ?
The answer came in the form of a brilliant album which proved that all personal differences asides, these five people were meant to make music together. The album was a decidedly 80's sonic adventure - which I mean in a good way - and the production featured Fleetwood Mac at its most polished and gorgeous. It's obivous that Lindsey Buckingham gave the album its edge, and not just because of his guitar playing and top production skills : "Caroline" and the title track were particularly impressive, and the first single ("Big Love") was an instantly distinctive diversion from the mid-80's radio diet of Bon Jovi and Europe. Yet it's Christine McVie who unexpectedly turned out to be the album's strongest card, with beautiful vocal performances, strong keyboard arrangements, and most of all, great songs : "Little Lies" is one of the catchiest, most elegant pop songs of the 80's, while "Everywhere" was simply a gorgeous song that featured the Mac's trademark vocal harmonies as if it was still 1977. Her other songs were the hard-rocking, impressive "Isn't it midnight" - not your typical Christine McVie song at all, yet it became a favourite in their 1987-88 tour - and the sublime "Mystified", a longing ballad where Lindsey's production skills were at their best. There were even a couple of songwriting collaborations between McVie and Buckingham, most notably the album's ultra-melodic closer "You and I (part 2)". Those lucky enough to put their hands on "You and I (part 1)", not available on the album, discovered that it was just as brilliant, and should have been on the album too.
As for Stevie Nicks, her songs from this album have often been harshly criticized. All she got was three songs, and none of them are well-remembered today. For sure, there wasn't a "Landslide" or a "Gold Dust Woman" in the lot; however, it doesn't mean that they don't have any artistic merit - on the contrary. "Seven Wonders", the catchy second single, was a cool midtempo rocker where Stevie's voice was well complimented by the band's harmonies. "Welcome to the room... Sara" had to be understood in the context of her stint in rehab, and I always felt it was a highlight of the album. As for the touching "When I See You Again", Stevie wrote about some universal feelings of confusion, longing, and fear, best expressed through the line "If she sees him again / Will your very best friend / Have been replaced by some other ?". Her voice on that song was expressive, and it embodied the whole ambivalence of the song.
All in all, the only minor moment of the album is "Family Man", sounding like an average pop-dance song and featuring some shaky vocal arrangements that bubbled away in the bridge. The album "Tango in the Night" is a superbly produced album that proved Fleetwood Mac was as contemporary as anybody; it featured gorgeous arrangements, first-rate material, and it did open up the ears of a whole new generation of fans - including this writer, who discovered Fleetwood Mac's music with this album. The fact that it was the last full studio album recorded by these five people, only gives it the additional poignancy that comes with knowing that it was sort of their swan song. I consider it an essential in Fleetwood Mac's long, rich history of rock and roll legacy.

Bella Donna Review

(More customer reviews)Throughout the 1970s Stevie Nicks was among the "golden line up" of the legendary Fleetwood Mac, and her lyrics and vocals did much to fuel the band's remarkable success on such releases as RUMORS. Still, when Nicks announced that she was going solo, there were naysayers aplenty. Many felt that Nicks' success with Fleetwood Mac rested in part on the musical settings created for her by various band members; others felt that she lacked the business know-how to put a solo deal together.
But Nicks proved much more artistically resourceful and a much tougher deal-maker than her critics expected. Released in 1981, BELLA DONNA exploded to the top of the charts. Throughout the 1980s Nicks would score further solo successes with THE WILD HEART and ROCK A LITTLE; at the same time she remained a mainstay of the on-again-off-again Fleetwood Mac. And she would become one of the most admired performers of the decade.
Whatever the merits of her other work, BELLA DONNA remains Nicks' single best selling solo effort, a release beloved by fans and admired by critics alike. And it isn't hard to see why. Although Nicks had done some very tough rock and roll with Fleetwood Mac, and had often performed folk and country-flavored songs with the band, BELLA DONNA extended her range in both directions. At the same, however, she did not make the mistake of doing material so completely different as to alienate her core fans, preferring instead to elaborate her previous work than to dismiss it completely.
The result is a series of songs that are very clearly by the same Stevie Nicks who performed with Fleetwood Mac--but which don't simply repeat the sound she acheived with that band. Perhaps the most obvious example is the opening title cut, which sounds very much like something Fleetwood Mac might have done, but which gradually turns in a number of directions that one would never expect from that band--a sort of fusion of Nicks' previous work and the new music she is about to present.
Nicks had done some fairly hard rockers with Fleetwood Mac, but with "Edge Of Seventeen" she takes her skills in that direction to the max, creating a hard, hard, hard rock vocal to a driving beat against a background of some the tightest back-up vocals you've ever heard any where. Her duet with Tom Petty, "Stop Draggin' My Heart Around," is done at a slower tempo but still creates a hard rock sound, and Nicks and Petty's voices are remarkably well blended. Nicks also veers more significantly toward a country music tone than she had in the past with "After the Glitter Fades," which proved a cross-over hit on the country charts, and her duet with Don Henley, "Leather and Lace," mixes pop and country idioms to tremendous effect.
If these cuts at least reference her original sound with Fleetwood Mac, the remaining cuts might have been written with Fleetwood Mac specifically in mind--and very likely were, songs that were probably never recorded for lack of space. "Kind of Woman," "Think About It," "How Still My Love," and most particularly "Outside the Rain" are very much in the Fleetwood Mac style, all of them expertly done, and all of them memorable.
In spite of her success as a solo artist, Nicks would continue to work with Fleetwood Mac--and fortunately so, for whereas her work with Fleetwood Mac would still find her in top form, her post-ROCK A LITTLE solo releases became increasingly problematic until her stunning TROUBLE IN SHANGRI-LA. But whatever her ups and downs, Nicks has remained one of the most interesting performers of her generation, a woman with a unique voice, a talent for creating unusual lyrics, and a powerhouse presence. It's hard to imagine any other performer quite like her. And BELLA DONNA remains one of her best. Recommended.

Indigo Girls - Live at the Uptown Lounge (1990) Review

(More customer reviews)This video has not only great acoustic music, but also interviews with the girls. It takes place in their hometown of Athens, Georgia in an intimate setting, the Uptown Lounge. The guest appearance by Micheal Stipe in Kid Fears was a bonus. I highly recomend it to any die hard IG's fan!

(More customer reviews)I'm probably biased, because this record was my first exposure to Stevie Nicks ever, but I think it's a great album. Yes, we now know that she was half-wacked outta her gourd on drugs and booze during this time, but that mostly likely served to give her more of an edge. Even Stevie has said that "devestation leads to writing great songs" and while her voice on this CD is not perfect, it's full of intensity. She practically shouts her way through the defiant No Spoken Word and The Nightmare. And Rock A Little and I Sing For The Things sound appropriately weary and heartfelt. There is never a doubt that she is putting everything she's got into singing the songs on this album. This IS an odd album, because at least for a while, Stevie let go of her farie/gypsy/fantasy persona and got herself an attitude....she became Stevie:Warrior Princess. She started wearing all black, teased out her hair, and spun faster and harder than she ever has before or since. If there is a downside to this CD, it's that it now feels dated. It isn't as timeless as her other albums....the music very much sounds and feels like a typical mid-80's production.

(More customer reviews)The Fleetwood Mac: Destiny Rules documentary goes where the band has gone before in terms of the kind of documentary you see here. The band previously released such a retrospective about the recording of their classic album Tusk, but this one is very different.
For one thing, the band is much older as it set about recording their album Say You Will. Secondly, Christine McVie has retired, so the band was left to its own devices with the three men (drummer Mick Fleetwood, bassist John McVie, and guitarist and vocalist Lindsey Buckingham) recording while singer Stevie Nicks was on her tour to support Trouble in Shangri-la so she couldn't be in the studio while the men were until she finished her tour.
One of the things that is obvious when watching Destiny Rules is the fact that, despite a flaky reputation, Nicks is surprisingly grounded at key moments in the filming. While Buckingham was pushing for a double album, Nicks explained her reasons for being reluctant to go along: The band's familiar audience was older and a double album would be a hard sell. She also displayed a grasp of the current music scene that seemed to escape the other members when she pointed out how difficult it would be to compete with the likes of N'SYNC or the Backstreet Boys.
Nicks does have her moments of drama. When the cameras were filming her and Buckingham debating the merits of lines in "Thrown Down," she says, "you can't change that. It's beautiful." A VH-1 All Access special caught one moment that Destiny Rules unfortunately missed: Nicks screaming at Buckingham, "of course you hate it. It's because I wrote it!"
All in all, the decision to go from a double album to a single album with 18 songs could have been explained more thoroughly and some of the sequences seemed out of whack, but the documentary was a very revealing glimpse into the changes that happen to older artists who go into a recording studio.
