i have remained a hardcore frusciante fan since he left, yet found the peppers albums since his return more and more disapointing (not entirely, just mostly).
then..this album. WOW! if you have given up on them after bssm or even before, you must give them another chance! by far the best thing they have ever done. too many favorite songs to list, although slow cheetah is currently my fav.
now, about the expensive version...
i hate to say i feel ripped off because the music contained is worth every penny and then some, but, well...i feel ripped off.
an extra $30 or so for basically a dvd is what i feel like i got.
the packaging just makes getting to the cd's harder, the dvd is just ok, nothing great. another funky monks type documentary would have been pure magic, the album being recorded in the same mansion, etc. the "28 page booklet" is merely the lyrics and credits and some photos, basically what they probably added in a smaller version on the regular version of the cd. the "original artwork" also could've just been part of the cheaper versions booklet (and maybe it is). everything else is just junk trinckets not worth the extra mony. marbles, blank paper, and a wooden top.
anyways...i cant recommend the more than double price sticker for a crummy gimmick, but the actual album has got to be one of my all time top 5 albums already, and this coming from someone who basically gave up on them after bssm. buy the new cd without hesitation, but proceed with caution on throwing down your money for an overpriced box of junk is all im trying to say.

Anthony Kiedis of the Red Hot Chili Peppers calls the band’s first new album in four years, Stadium Arcadium, the most-anticipated album of the spring, "the best thing that we’ve ever done…. There’s this weird kind of sublime, subliminal undercurrent that is suggestive, in a spirited way, of our earliest records." Exuding all the passion, energy and funked-up rock that have made the Red Hot Chili Peppers one of the most popular bands in history, the 2-CD Stadium Arcadium, simply put, will knock your socks off. The Limited Edition is a 3D-image shadow box containing a 28-page book, velvet bag with marbles, a wooden top, a matchbook notepad and four art notes, one by each band member. DVD (LIMITED EDITION) Dani California (video), Track by track interviews with the band, Making of Dani California

Made in USA in 2004, Serial# B0003543-00, Playing Time 224:03
I must admit from the very beginning that I'm not an un-conditional BON JOVI fan... There are songs I found extremely interesting (for example, "Raise Your Hands"), while others have a soporific effect (for example, "Wanted Dead Or Alive"). So I wouldn't say BON JOVI is the "best band in the world" (I actually find those types of remarks nauseating...)
I'm also not particularly fond of box sets, especially since fans (and/or myself) have the bulk of the material anyway! One must typically spend some hard-earned dollars for 2 or 3 "leftover" tracks of average interest/quality.
Lo and behold, this BON JOVI boxset is the HOLY GRAIL of boxsets; I take back everything I ever said about box sets: this one is THE exception to the rule!!! Putting aside the fact that the DVD is quite original and interesting (and about an hour long!), ALMOST every track here is previously unreleased. Unpolished demos, you say? NOT! Many (and I mean most) are of album production quality, and VERY enjoyable.
Though I was worried at first (I knew this was NOT a 'greatest hits' type boxset), I thought the material would be weak (my subconscious was hearing someone scraping the bottom of a barrel...)
To anyone looking for a Christmas present to a BON JOVI fan, this is IT.
This set will hopefully "raise the bar" to any other band thinking about releasing a boxset; this one is NOT intended to simply cash-in on previously released stuff: it's almost 4 hours of full compositions, like buying 4 new albums!!!
A MUST BUY.

Its not but its the closest were going to get and its actually really good. I have seen Randy Hansen live twice, 1st time 1979 long beach arena, then 2003 in San Francisco. He is the real deal.

Outstanding, killer new Hendrix Tribute disc captured LIVE on Randy Hansen's recent Euro-tour 2008 featuring the excellent Seatle Stratmaster paying serious musical homage to the father of heavy guitar (JIMI). European Tour 2008 is an amazing, heavy-duty set featuring many Hendrix tracks/jams not found on Hansen's previous tribute discs. Awesome, over-the-top, relentless, Hendrixian-Guitar Fury dominates this stand-out, live bluesy heavy guitar musical document. Randy Hansen is a true, legitimate, modern-day, white Hendrix who nails down the Man's monumental, timeless, classic riffage with power, precision and passion. Complete with tons of bad-ass, killer, extended, improvisational, Hendrix-inspired lead guitar action that make for a disc which will satisfy both hard-core Hendrix lovers and serious heavy guitar freaks worldwide. Tune in and wave your Hendrix Freak Flag High with Randy Hansen. For nearly three decades, world-renowned guitarist Randy Hansen has acquired himself quite a reputation as being one of the best Hendrix impersonators on the Third Stone from the Sun. Releasing countless discs through the years featuring both stellar Hendrix jams and his own authentic Hendrix-inspired riffage, the Man is a true Guitar Legend in every sense of the word. In a sea of Hendrix-inspired guitarists, Randy Hansen stands tall and is one of the few players officially recognized by the Hendrix family. Having toured and played with Uli Jon Roth, Jack Bruce, Paul Rodgers, Mitch Mitchell and Buddy Miles, among others, Hansen is a true living testament to the Father of Heavy Guitar (Jimi). Digging deep with passion, maturity and conviction, Randy Hansen creates landscapes of sound, masterful guitar work, strong riffage and remarkably authentic killer cosmic tones as he channels the Spirit of Jimi Hendrix through his Fender Strat. (((Long live the musical spirit of Jimi Hendrix))).
