Backstreet Boys - Video Hits, Chapter One Review

Backstreet Boys - Video Hits, Chapter One
Average Reviews:

This is a great dvd collection for any Backstreet Boy fan. The videos are:
From the album BACKSTREET BOYS
Quit Playin' Games (With My Heart)
I'll Never Break Your Heart BACKSTREET BOYS [1998 version]
From the album BACKSTREET'S BACK (but BACKSTREET BOYS in the U.S.)
As Long As You Love Me
Everybody (Backstreet's Back)
All I Have To Give
From MILLENIUM
I Want It That Way
Larger Than Life
Show Me The Meaning Of Being Lonely
The One
From BLACK AND BLUE
Shape Of My Heart
The Call
More Than That
The majority of Backstreet Boys' videos are included here. However, there are a number which are missing. This compilation appears to lack five videos, which in my opinion, are some of their best. They are:
1. Drowning
The others (which are all from the album BACKSTREET BOYS), are:
2. We've Got It Goin On - Their first video. They appear to be just 'hanging out', at a car wash, playing basketball, and dancing in a club etc.
3. Anywhere For You - In this video they're at the beach.
4. Get Down (You're the One For Me) - Here they are mainly dancing on a round stage with tv screens all around them.
5. I'll Never Break Your Heart - 1996 version. This was actually re-released; the old version had the boys at what appeared to be a ski resort.
For those who want to see the majority of the Backstreet Boys videos, this is the DVD to buy. Although incomplete, the videos present are in good quality. Maybe these missing videos will be released in the future. This is only "Chapter One" of their video hits, after all.

Backstreet Boys - Never Gone: The Videos (2005) Review

Backstreet Boys - Never Gone: The Videos (2005)

This is a very enjoyable DVD. It's kind of like their classic All Access Video, only for Never Gone. It includes the videos for Incomplete, Just Want You to Know, and I Still. It also has behind the scenes footage from each video shoot, a photo gallery, and a -- very short -- interview. The interview was the only part that I thought could have been better. It only includes 3 questions: one answered by Howie about AJ crowd-surfing, and then AJ and Kevin talking about their Never Gone tour. The audio during the interview is kind of poor, but the audio on the rest of the DVD is fine.
Overall, I highly recommend this DVD to all BSB fans!

Wow...just wow...where to start?! Let me say that I have been a fan of theirs since BSB first came on the scene (we're talking concerts, ALL their cd's, etc - I've even met the guys, who are great btw) I'm still a fan and they are one of the only bands who cd I buy on release day, but I must say this is the first album I'm a bit disappointed in. I understand wanting to make a pop cd these days means dance songs but these songs (and their lyrics) are beneath, I think, the audience they started with in the beginning - I think the younger, newer, fans will probably enjoy this album more than ones who've been following the guys for awhile. I enjoy dance songs as much as the next person but BSB is known for making a great ballad and bringing out their beautiful harmonies and that aspect seems to be lost on this album. They aren't a "clubbin'" band so while it's great to see them getting in touch with their roots and going with some more upbeat music an entire album of songs that sound similar to each other just doesn't captivate me as much as some of their previous albums. I'm glad to have them back but I'm hoping the next album wont make them out to be a bunch of boys - as they are now men.

1. Click the Start button and select Control Panel from the Start Menu.
2. Double-click on the System control panel icon.
3. Select the Hardware tab and click the Device Manager button.
4. Configure Device Manager by clicking "Show hidden devices" and "Devices by connection," both from the View menu.
5. Insert the Cd into the computer and allow the SunnComm software to start. If MediaMax has never been started before on the same computer, the SbcpHid driver should appear on the list for the first time. However, on some systems Windows needs to be rebooted before the driver becomes visible.

At this point you can attempt to copy tracks from the CD with applications like Music Match Jukebox or Windows Media Player. Copies made while the driver is active will sound badly garbled.

Next, follow these additional steps to disable MediaMax:
1. Select the SbcpHid driver from the Device Manager list and click "Properties" from the Action Menu.
2. Click the Driver tab and click the Stop button to disable the driver.
3. Set the Startup Type to "Disabled" using the dropdown list. That should do it. I used iTunes to copy my CD. Best of luck to you

I have been a BSB fan for over sixteen years and have witnessed their musical transformations. With this new album comes an essence of the currently influential R&B sound(s).
While I am more than pleased to announce that their music is representing their maturation, I must also stress that there are songs on this record that will have you wondering where the beginning and ending was (carefully listen to the beat of "Shattered" and "Undone"). Also, "Bye Bye Love" is reminiscent of "Single" performed by NKOTB; though, it may be the most upbeat song on the album. After purchasing this deluxe edition, I expected to receive 12 tracks but only got 11 (similar to the regular edition). Unlike the regular edition, I did, however, receive the DVD that comes with the deluxe edition. As a fan of these men, I was absolutely enthralled with the live performance as well as their video, "Straight Through My Heart."
Overall, I couldn't have asked for more from BSB. At times, this album is downright humorous (refer to "She's a Dream:" BSB uses words such as "shorty," "pedigree," and refer to themselves as making "pesos" all in this one song). Their attempts at using a rap star's vernacular in their new album suggests that they are definitely aiming at a wider audience, but in reality, you are getting the Backstreet Boys as they have always been: ready and willing to perform to any audience in order to entertain. Lastly, I would like to mention that while BSB are varying their sounds in this album, you will be excited to know that they still have their classic sounds in songs such as, "Shattered." This album gets an "A+" in my review for their wonderful efforts!
