(More customer reviews)Upon hearing through Tiesto's website that this would be a more progressive album than his previous ISOS releases, I jumped on it. I have to admit that while listening to the First CD, it didn't sound very progressive at all. More like his "signature" house music with a chill, calm and relaxed theme to it. The sound we have come to expect from his ISOS compilations. While I did enjoy the first disc, the concept remained the same and I was left asking myself "Where is the difference?" As an artist I think sometimes you get caught up in a groove or in a rut (whether good or bad) and sometimes you just have to break away from that to keep your listeners on the edge, keep them guessing what's next, or just simply give them an element of surprise.
Im just going to say right out that Disc 2 is the BEST mix compilation I have ever heard from Tiesto hands down! You want progressive Trance? This is it! Its the Tranciest album he has put out in his ISOS series by far, no comparison. Whereas Disc 1 has lots of Vocals, Disc 2 has none! Its all Beats, rhythms, melodies and extremely uplifting tracks. You'll have goose bumps galore listening to this. The BPM's are between 135-138 just to give you an idea. I agree that besides the great track selection on the disc, the arrangement is absolutely flawless! Everything fits in perfectly and each track builds and compliments the next one thanks to his flawless mixing. I kid you not. I have every disc this guy has put out dating back to his unreleased 5 album forbidden paradise series as well as his ISOS 6 (London, yes London) bootleg. I think this is his crowning achievement. I have no doubt you will feel the same. After his Magik series people were left wondering if he'd every come back to playing Trance. People were asking where that sound had gone. If you read the Magik 6 reviews you will see this to be true. Tiesto has finally come back to Trance on Disc 2 and after a week of having the album I have only heard disc 1 once, thats how good disc 2 is. This is pure genius. The Intro is chilling and everything literally builds on after that. This is what Trance music is really all about. Im excited for everyone who has yet to purchase or listen to this album. I wont go into the specifics of each track since someone already did a good job of that but be sure that any serious Tiesto fan, especially those dating back to his Magik days will surely be thrilled.
