In the past, I've only been a part-time fan of Jowell y Randy. Aside from their singles like "Fuera de Planeta" or "Juegues Mas", I've mostly liked them as guest features on songs by other artists. Quitarte To (Tego Calderon), Ponmela (Voltio), Te Siento (Wisin y Yandel), Perversa (Trebol Clan), Salgo Pa La Calle (Daddy Yankee).
I wasn't impressed by their first group album, or the Casa de Leones CD, but the duo is terrific with this album. The beats make El Momento a step above most recent reggaeton albums, the production is hot. Most of the beats are upbeat electronic tracks perfect for radio, like "Mi Dama de Colombia" and their single "Loco." They even throw in a laid-back reggae beat with their Cultura Profetica collabo "Solo Por Ti."
While I like a bit of Romantikeo, I have to have my hardcore dembow and perreo music. And that's exactly what you get with "Hacerlo Asi" con Guelo Starr, "Dile a El", and "Un Booty Nuevo." My favorite track on the album is "No Fue Una Noche Normal", which really shows how much the duo have improved their flow over the years.
There are 15 tracks on the album, guest spots include De La Ghetto, Cosculluela, Franco El Gorila, Tico El Imigrante, Wisin & Yandel, Javiah, Gadiel, Cultura Profetica, and Guelo Star. If I had any complaints about the album, it's only that I thought they could have used the auto-tune effects less for the singing.
I'm really surprised that El Momento was this hot. Jowell y Randy have improved their flow, and have some of the hottest beats I've heard in years. They keep it mixed with Romantikeo pa las mujeres, y Underground pa los fellas to bump in their ride. This is a fresh reggaeton album, treat yourself to this CD today.

You can really feel the crowd erupt at the beginning of "king daddy" as he tells all the "Boricuas" to raise their arms! For me, even though I'm not fluent in spanish, you can still get the energy that he evokes from the crowd. It's on my workout playlist on my IPOD. The DVD is great as well, especially the interview. If you already have Barrio Fino, then En directo is a great addition!!

Daddy Yankee Mundial Review

Daddy Yankee Mundial

Mundial isn't Daddy Yankee's best album, but it's one you'll want to add to your collection. The point of Mundial was for Yankee use different world styles into the production. "La Despedida" uses a merengue beat, "Que Es La Que Hay" is a dancehall-flavored track, and "Grito Mundial" uses Brazilian Samba sounds.
Overall, there are some good radio-friendly songs on the album, though I prefer it when Yankee goes hard Sin Jocky style over tracks like "El Más Duro." El Cangriman noticeably uses more auto-tune on this album, including the only song with a guest feature (Tito el Bambino).
My only complaint about this album is that it doesn't include "Intenso", a hot dembow track that Yankee released in early 2010. Also, "El Ritmo No Perdona" AKA "Prende" is only available on the iTunes version of this album, so you won't find it on the CD available in stores or on Amazon. Mundial isn't as hot as "El Cartel: The Big Boss", but it's still a good album to own. The only thing left for you to decide is if you want the version with Intenso and Prende on it.

ENGLISH I have been blessed by having the opportunity to travel to most countries in the world.Because of this I have learned about the different cultures and lifestyles of each country.Included in this style of Life is "Music" which made me curious to learn much more about it and was the starting point for the concept of the Mundial. My biggest challenge and first question was 'how can I make a Mundial CD with an Urban flavor, one that includes the influence from all the countries that have given me their vibe, an album that does not sound like a good intention gone awry. That's when I decided to begin with the basics of my musical roots:the Caribbean -reggaeton, meringue, ripao, bachata, soca and dancehall. The Caribbean is full of energy!! The musical vibe in South America, Central America and Mexico is incredible - from vallenato, cumbia, batucada to countless flavors that fed my musical inspiration so I could make a fusion with my urban package on this album. Then I added what I have learned from the US - Hip Hop - which gave me the freedom to express what I want. From Europe I learned about electronic music with its maximum expression- the very special energy it transmits in a club as well as in a stadium with thousands of people.Digital music with its infinite library of plugins.I always wanted to make a fusion with Latin music, mixing both with instruments in a Live setting. We used vocal special effects in some of the songs thanks to this inspiration of the electronic revolution. All these influences have a big presence in my album. In summary, Daddy Yankee Mundial is an album with a great musical variety where The Street joins The World. DEBERIA DECIR FUSIONA O EMERGE O REUNE O UNIFICA....
