Close your eyes and you are on the streets of Paris or having a cocktail at the Moulon Rouge. this is a 1920s collaboration of the infamous "Le Six" and friends. Milhaud, Poulenc, Ravel, Auric, Honneger, Ibert, Roussel, Tailleferre, delannoy, Ferroud,schmitt and Roland-Manuel. A veritable who's who of French composers. They all contributed short compositions to the whole. And What a whole. The performance could not be bettered and the Chandos Sound is SPECTACULAR. Rich, spacious, warm with great depth. You will have a smile on your face, a sparkle in your eyes and a hop in your step after listening to this CD. If not, than you must be listening to Mahler. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED...
