Petty is the consumate entertainer, manipulating the crowd in the palm of his hand. The performance is heavy with anticipation and understatement. And all the while, very cool. A sensational concert version of "Don't Come Around Here No More" complete with Alice In Wonderland props is the centrepiece.
Plenty of Petty + Heartbreakers classics and a couple of novelty pieces featuring individual band members are all riveting viewing.
Technical production by Gone Gator Films and production by Nitrate are first class. It's a pity that DVDs weren't invented back in '91 - c'mon BMG, how about a re-release on DVD in 2002 with a few added interviews featuring Tom and the band 10 years on? A 5.1 Surround soundtrack would be great too.
This video is now hard to obtain (why? it's timeless!) and sorry folks, my copy is not for sale at any price.
