Michael Ball's performances on this new CD are fine, it's just the material that isn't up to his usual standard. I really liked One Voice, Where Do I Begin (Theme from the old "Love Story" movie), Lyin' Eyes (classy country/western genre), and Home. The rest of the songs are not my cup of Lipton as far as compositions go. Maybe someone who is into rock music may like them but I felt he included just to please that audience. I just didn't like the compositions but then, I'm extremely picky about my music and only collect Ball and Feinstein in the popular genre, preferring classical and opera. I have all of Ball's recordings because I admire his voice and incredible talent as well as what he can do with almost any song, ballad or upbeat. I listen to the other CD's repeatedly, however, this is not going to be one of my favorites except for the tracks I've mentioned. There are some of the orchestrations which are overdone but are tolerable. Overall, if you are a fan of Michael's, then the tracks I found as favorites, make the disc worth the price and, who knows, you may like the songs I didn't care for. I'm a senior with years of music education so most heavy rock sounds like just so much noise to me, even if Michael Ball is singing. I've heard many upbeat songs that he does extremely well. These songs are just inferior compositions in my opinion but well performed in general.
