Following Miles in Paris (Laserlight) and Sweden (Dragon)recordings, from the same 1960 tour, this Swiss recording comes in an admirable third. The same set list dominates all recordings but on any given night things change.Miles is playing his usual sumptious self but Trane is already reaching for his new "sound".Reluctant to do this tour,he had already given his notice. As he was bored with the repetoire, he was searching for something different. This CONTRAST in their styles is fantastically mesmerizing (even more so in Paris).
If you dig the players, you will dig this recording. The sound isn't great, but decent. The earlier Bohemia recordings are "rougher" still, but still listenable.
DIG IT!!
