(More customer reviews)My husband & I are HUGE Sarah Brightman fans. Ironically, we saw her Harem show TWICE (in Phoenix) but never realized at the time that this album, which was being sold at both concerts, was different from the original Harem CD. Costly Mistake!
A few months ago, on her Chinese fan website, I heard a sample of her beautiful version of Enya's song Watermark & learned it was on this CD. It took some work but eventually this CD was available on Amazon. It was pricey. I hesitated for a few seconds, then proceeded.
Am I ever glad! I cannot get enough of these songs. I completely agree with the Venezuelan reviewer's song by song ratings, especially on "Will You Join Me". Hauntingly & soulfully exquisite - close to an out of body experience! Sarah Brightman, producer Frank Peterson, and their collaborators have made the world's most beautiful, complex, & creative music. This album is a stellar example & a wonderful complement to Sarah & Frank's finest, the Harem CD.
This will sound incredible to many of you, but once you've experienced Sarah Brightman's work, nothing you've ever known before will satisfy as it once did. She is one in a million. Seeing her sing is almost supernatural - how can such sound arise from this tiny woman? Every molecule of her being is there when she delivers her highest & most sustained notes. It is spine-tingling! Afterward, she looks just as amazed & delighted as her audience!
One more thought. I've read many reviews of Sarah's work on Amazon. Her real fans know of her four decade devotion to her craft and the evolution of her vocal, musical, and collaborative talent. I'm bemused by the rare but sometimes harsh criticism in some reviews. I think all of her work with Frank Peterson, and since her classical training; Eden, La Luna, Harem, Classics, & Time to Say Goodbye (forgive me if I've left out anything) deserves 5 star ratings.
Sarah Brightman's music is quite stirring emotionally on both sensual AND spiritual planes. People who are shut down, defended, or fear their true inner life, could be threatened by the clarity & power of her music. The so called classical "purists" are just stuck. Thankfully Sarah has "Seen it All" and "Pay(s) No Mind", which happen to be two awesome songs on the Harem Tour CD!
