Tristania's debut album "Widow's Weeds" (Norway 1998) is probably the best metal of the 90s. Listening to the CD you'd swear the band used a full orchestra & chior. Seeing this concert it's hard to believe all that noise is created by just six people! The keyboard player IS the full orchestra! The band is just as tight live as in the studio. The female singer looks like the cover model of Black Sabbath's first album. The sound quallity is good. The only drawbacks are the one concept video (about a knight killing his girlfriend) doesn't work and the best song on the album, "angellore" (which recalls the Damned), isn't included. But these are just minor complaints. Fans of early Tristania should also sniff out the "Magical Love" CD by Saturnalia (UK 73).
