(More customer reviews)For over thirty years, I have been able to listen to the music of a very special artist, James Last. I have been a fan of Percy Faith, Bert Kaempfert, Paul Mauriat and the Hollyridge Strings, but once I heard the record, "With Compilments", James Last became my favorite artist, ever. I estimate that I have over 200 different Last recordings in my collection, but no CD quality recordings of his concerts. THIS provides me with the opportunity to hear what this magician sounds like in person. In this release, recorded in the 1997 concert tour, you will hear many familiar and new arrangements by Hansi Last. I was so pleased to hear "Thousand Days", because it featured Hansi's trademark, a string section second to none! Also, listen to "Der Morgen" and "Don't Cry for me, Argentina". For those with a taste for more contemporary vocals, there are "Coco Jambo", and "I'll be Missing You". In this potpurri, you will find all the finest, and VARIED sounds you will need to hear. This album showcases the tremendous variety of this artist, and you will hear more "modern", interpretations of many Last standards! I will travel, this coming fall, for the first time in my life to Europe, not to see Rome, London or Paris, but James Last, live and in concert, in Germany!
