(More customer reviews)If you can find this one and you're a Butch Thompson fan, don't hesitate for a minute. Buy it. The disc was recorded at Potton Hall, Suffolk, UK, without an audience, and the sound is gorgeous. Dave Bennett's done his engineering magic once again.
Butch is in fine form, swinging from one tune to the next, playing gently and with great feeling for much of the program. There are, of course, Jelly Roll Morton tunes a'plenty and other lovely early delights including Trouble In Mind, Sweet Baby Doll, Poor Jimmy Green, Sobbin' Blues, Krooked Blues, Dink Johnson Blues, Jazzin' Baby Blues, Mamie's Blues, His Eye Is On The Sparrow, Riverside Blues, How Long Blues, and a few more. Total Running Time:68:25
Absolutely delightful performance and well worth searching for.
