(More customer reviews)probably an overused term (all-stars) but looking over the musicians in this fine organization, there is hardly a name that you probably don't have on other jazz recordings.
This is really great stuff! Outside of the leader and his piano, the sidemen, the selection of material and composers....and let's not leave out the arrangements, there's nothing to really rave about!
They could have called this a Dream Band.......(if that hadn't already been used by Terry Gibbs). It sure must have been great to hear in person.
If you like jazz, big band, soloists such as Gene Harris, Ralph Moore, Glenn Drewes, James Morrison, Kenny Burrell, Gary Smulyan, Jerry Dodgion, "Sweets" Edison, George Bohannon, Robin Eubanks, Jeff Clayton, Ray Brown, Urbie Green, Plas Johnson, and Harold Jones, you'll want this one and probably its companion live recording as well.
