They are almost thier own genre, but are usually classified as "Progressive Metal" and somtimes as "Symphonic Heavy Metal", some how both fit. This is 1 of thier 1st major releases to start including vocals, they have a few times before, but not to where as most of the album contains tracks with vocals, and the guest vocalists are all from well known metal bands. I love this album as much as any other Apocalyptica. The difference here is the Japanese release contains the bonus song Lies as the final track. Lies is also available on the S.O.S. Anything But Love [Single] as the 2nd and final track.
