(More customer reviews)Audiophiles have good reason to consider Sony's new SACD playback format as the best way to hear music even if Brubeck's astonishing performances on this disk are the only ones he or she will ever hear. This recording is truly state-of-the-art in the sonics department. The standard CD pales by comparison. Musically, this live recording is one of Brubeck's best in many years. His interpretation of "Deep Purple" is worth the price of the disk by itself.
