Walk on Water Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)After years of fragmentation UFO finally got Michael Schenker to return to the group in 1994. The result was WALK ON WATER, one of the finest UFO albums ever recorded. The album picks right up where the classic LIGHTS OUT line-up left off in 1979. "Self Made Man" and "Darker Days" both feature crunchy heavy riffs and "dark" melodies, and are classic UFO songs. "Pushed To The Limit" is a top-notch uptempo rocker with a driving beat. The rest of the album is spectacular Hard Rock with a lot of melody. Often laced with acoustic guitar for texture, songs like "Stopped By A Bullet," "Venus," "Knock, Knock," and "Running On Empty" show a more mature version of UFO that still rocks. In fact, that is what makes this album so special; the band treats the listener with respect and doesn't just put out a "paint by numbers" Hard Rock album. WALK ON WATER is a must for any UFO fan, and should be in the collection of any fan of 1970's & 1980's Hard Rock.\ (If you like this album I also HIGHLY recommend Deep Purple's PURPENDICULAR!)

Misdemeanour Tour (1985) Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)If one DVD live Heavy group deserves attention is this, not only because the great performance of every song of the Misdemeanor album, but for the historic achivement of the band. It has been three guitarist changes (did I miss someone?) inside the band (Michael Schenker, Paul Chapman, Atomic Tommy M.) and they have always reach an efficent chemistry between the rest of the members to get an excellent product: Their Music. And the 1896, Misdemeanor album its really a classic, containing all the basic elements of the band, or at least the keys and vocal ingredients of the old fashioned UFO music. I clearly identified another two classic UFO albums: Michael Schenker's PHENOMENON (1974), and Paul Chapman's NO PLACE TO RUN (1980). And no one has had the job easier than his predecesor! Now Atomic Tommy M. proyects an electrifying guitar playing that really get sparks out of his instrument. The material is heavy with great melodic lines and interesting musical passages. This is a DVD that the real UFO fan should have... Good Luck!

UFO - Misdemeanor Tour (1984) Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)If you think UFO is only a band with Michael Schenker thann don't bother with this DVD. HOWEVER, if you like all UFO music this is a great DVD. I have seen other reviews on this page that are negative and I don't know that theese people even bothered to watch (or listen to) the DVD. The singing is perfect, Phil Moog at his best. The guitar playing is awesome, the rest of the music sounds very much like the studio releases. Atomic Tommy is incredible to watch. The ease with which he performs his guitar heroics is incredible to behold. I highly recommend this DVD to anyone intelligent enough to appreciate the Misdemeanor album. You will not be sorry. It's not like they are even asking for vey much money for it either. I was not fortunate enough to see UFO on the Misdemeanor Tour but now I feel like I was there.

Michael Schenker Group - Live in Tokyo: 30th Anniversary (2010) Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This is a top caliber concert blue ray.The video is clear and brite. Michael is looking healthy and happy playing the flying V. If You are a UFO fan there is songs for you. Michaels clear solo's were clear as hell comming from the center channel. He is in a groove the whole show. Simon Wright on drums adds alot to the show. Gary Barden sounds refreshed, Being the beginning of the tour helps with any singer. Setlist is good the song (On And On) Is my favorite of the set. IMO I think it's the best Metal riff ever. If youre a Schenker fan or UFO fan this is a must have.I was skeptical because I want good audio. And I was pleasantly surprised.
I saw this tour so it even makes it that much more enjoying. If you are a guitarist fan you will like.
