(More customer reviews)First of all; I already know people will be screaming "SELL OUTS!", but the fact of the matter is this album is truly amazing. All the critics just said that these guys were just people who jumped around on stage screaming useless stuff with no meaning. They have two acoustic songs, one slowish type song and a song that starts off heavy and enters into an acoustic breakdown. Those songs are so creative and crazy, you have no idea.
This album is by far their most mature and in my opinion their best album to date and is a CD that fits everyone one way or another. Corey Taylor's lyrics are really good, but the only downfall is Joey doesn't get to show his skills as much, but we already know he's a bad ass drummer, so it's fine.
I honestly couldn't see them playing this album live, or else they would get booed off stage, because people are close minded like that. When I went to see Slipknot, they only performed four songs ("Duality", "The Blister Exists", "Pulse of the Maggots", and "Three Nil") and they were all heavyish. They wouldn't be able to play "Vermillion", "Vermillion Pt 2.", "Circle", "Danger - Keep Away" or "The Nameless", which all have a nice little soft side to them. My favorite "soft song" is "Vermillion Pt 2."
Now as for the heavy part of the album, pretty much the whole first half of the CD is really heavy. I love "Welcome" the most, just because it's so intense. "The Blister Exists" was really well done too, with the patriotic drum rolls during the middle and at the end. Very catchy stuff.
Overall, it's my favorite album right now and would definitely reccomend this to people with an open mind.

Disclaimer: If you are a music fan whose listens to a particular genre (i.e., metal ) you are going to feel disappointed. Specifically, if you are one of the Slipknot fans who consider Iowa to be Slipknot's best album you will definitely hate this one. However, if you like rock music in general (For example, I listen to anything from Radiohead to Slayer) then you will really appreciate this album.
Although I'm hard pressed not to pick sides and choose a favorite album, I can say that I've been listening to this album as much as I did with their self-titled debut (the one that made me a Slipknot fan to begin with). Everyone has different musical preferences and tastes, so I can understand why people who predominantly listen to "metal" would prefer Iowa (given that it's currently the band's heaviest release). Given that I listen to a much more larger scope of music genres, I found Iowa to be be on the one-dimensional side. To the dislike of many fans, with Vol. 3, the band made a drastic change in their music, incorporating solos, adding more melodic choruses, and varying the tempo of the music in the whole album and within songs. At the time of its release I was a bit shocked at the new direction of the band. However, now I understand that it was all part of the natural evolution of the band and a stepping stone to All Hope is Gone. With the new album, Slipknot has been able to capture the best elements of all their previous albums while maintaining flow/structure through all the songs. They have continue to expand their sound and grow musically, which any music fan in general should greatly appreciate.

i watched the first dvd and for 90 minutes expected the best to come but it never did.its a 90 min dvd of just clips of basically nothing. toilet issues and drinking problems (not slipknot)
i regretted buying it and felt let down.
not what i expected
the 2nd dvd has its moments.the interview and the live shows which we already have more from disasterpieces.
thats it.

(More customer reviews)First off: I like Korn but half the CD was them. They already have a live CD. Second: NEED MORE DEFTONES!! I know, you're probably thinkin that I'm just sayin that cause I'm a big fan,which I am, but after all they were the co-headliners. All in all, the CD is still very much worth the buy. The performances themselves were good but I'm disappointed in the coverage.
