I have been a huge fan of Wynonna's since the early days of The Judd's. I have every single album she has put out with The Judd's and Solo efforts. I have seen her live 10 times. She never fails to impress me. This woman can sing ANY genre of music and succeed in doing so. On her first solo Christmas album, Wynonna sings some of the songs she did on her X-mas album with her mom. This time she has an Orchestra to back her powerful vocals. The Chrismas Song, Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas, White Christmas all sound like the classic traditional versions. Her voice with the Orchestra...WOW! On Santa Claus is Coming to town...I like the little bells in the background and the children singing. Ave Maria, Emmanuel and It's the Messiah are all beautiful songs. Not very many people could pull off Ave Maria. Wynonna does effortlessly!!! What more can I say....This is just a beautiful traditional christmas album that will be a staple in my CD player during the Holiday Season for years to come.

Combine one of Country's most recognized voices with the most revered holiday classics of all time and music fans have reason to celebrate the season with Wynonna's first ever solo holiday album, A Classic Christmas.Wynonna's warm delivery on holiday favorites such as "The Christmas Song", "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" and "O Holy Night" leave the listener yearning for the smell of chestnuts roasting on the open fire.Wynonna delivers a few gems too that'll leave you speechless, especially the emotional "Ave Maria" recorded in Italianized Latin. From start to finish, A Classic Christmas certainly lives up to its name.

B'day Review

B'day

The release of the original version of B'Day came at the perfect time in my life. It came out the day before I had to return to work after my summer break and I was depressed, not only by that, but also by other things going on in my life. On September 5, 2006, I went to the music store and bought two copies. (I now own four copies, including the deluxe edition). I opened it and shoved the CD in my car stereo. What I heard changed my life. The songs were flawlessly produced and Beyoncé's vocal delivery was energetic, enthusiastic, swaggering, powerful and charismatic. Every song was amazing. Never have upbeat songs been graced with such beautiful, complex harmonies! It is now my favorite album of all time, even though I have had countless people shake their heads and laugh at this statement. (I plan to have many more after posting this review, too.) This album offered me an escape from my problems that even Mary J. Blige's My Life and Me'Shell NdegéOcello's Bitter couldn't bring to me, and for this I am thankful.

Considering this, I promise to give an absolutely truthful review that will answer the essential question at hand: does it live up to, or is it better than, the original? I feel no need to review songs from the original because you've most likely heard them on the radio, bought the album and/or seen the videos. Plus, I pretty much thought it was flawless.

There has been some confusion and I'd like to clear it up. The deluxe edition is a two-disc set. It comes with the expanded version of the original and a bonus disc with Spanish songs. It does NOT come with all of the videos. To obtain the videos recorded for each song, there is a DVD that you must buy separately from the CD set, which is exclusively available at Wal-Mart stores and on their website, or at least for the time being. (By the way, the DVD is definitely worth the purchase. The videos are amazing and very amusing.) Now that we've got that cleared up... let's move on to the new additions.

"Beautiful Liar," which was initially leaked on the Internet with only Beyoncé's vocals in November, is a little disappointing. It has a great theme and the song is alright, but the production is a little stale and uninspired to me. I also don't think Shakira's vocals mix well with Ms. Knowles'. Either way, it is pretty enjoyable and the dramatic, almost opera-like vocals from both women are nice. Can't say it fits the environment of the overall album, though.

The next new track, "Welcome To Hollywood," is simply a version of Jay Z's "Hollywood" with only Beyoncé singing. Nothing more, nothing less. (Good thing she left him out, because he already appears on here twice.) I wasn't a big fan of the song in the first place and always found the production to fall flat, but this version is an improvement. I love her blasting vocals and she gives the song a more cohesive sound.

Now "Flaws & All" is what I'm talking about! A common complaint towards the original B'Day was it barely had any ballads that made her debut such a hit. Here, B delivers a beautifully confessional song where she admits she has flaws and glitches. In the first few seconds of the song, she declares "I'm a train wreck in the morning / I'm a b---h in the afternoon." Wow! She has ups and downs, but her man (cough cough, Jay Z) loves her anyway, and that's why she loves him. It truly is beautiful and the melody is amazing. This is a welcome addition to the album, for me.

"Still In Love (Kissing You)" is another superb ballad, which was originally done by Desiree for the Rome + Juliet soundtrack. Beyoncé inserts some of her own lyrics to make the song more personal and she definitely does the song justice. It took a few listens to get used to because the production is very minimal, but it is a beautiful track nonetheless. In the last few seconds of the song, she proclaims that she loves her man "more than music." And we know how much she loves music. It's very touching and romantic.

The last new addition to the first disc is a hidden track that comes after "Listen." It is titled "World Wide Woman," which leaked on the Internet earlier this year. It has a very laid-back, spring/summer feel to it and I personally love it. It doesn't necessarily fit with the rest of B'Day, but I suppose that's why it's hidden. I'm glad it was included, though.

It was originally intended that Beyoncé would release a Spanish album, but that apparently fell apart. To not put the tracks to waste, some of them were put on the bonus disc, which is pretty much here just for added value. It includes the "Spanglish" version of "Beautiful Liar," which was actually the original version before Shakira stepped in. It features Sasha, Beyoncé's alter-ego, on the Spanish lines. I personally prefer this version to the original. The "remix" is not much different from the original, kind of useless. Same background music and everything. The version of "Beautiful Liar" completely in Spanish, "Bello Embustero," is also included. "Irreemplazable," the Spanish version of the ten-week number one hit "Irreplaceable" is very nice. The beautiful tone of her voice is preserved even when she is singing in Spanish and it sounds quite authentic. The same applies to "Listen (Oye)." I was rather impressed. "Amor Gitano" is enjoyable. But the real treat is the Nortena Remix of "Irreemplazable." It has accordions in it! Quite a refreshing combination!

So, back to the essential question: does it live up to the original? Was it worth it? As a fan, I was ecstatic for some new material. But for the casual music listener... it may not be necessary. "Still In Love (Kissing You)," "Flaws & All" and "Worldwide Woman" were welcome additions, but I would've preferred to have tracks such as "Creole," "Lost Yo Mind" or numerous others to replace "Beautiful Liar" and "Welcome To Hollywood." (I wish she would release an album of all the songs not released and call it B'Sides... eh?) Also, the addition of the new songs sacrifices the cohesive environment which existed in the original. The bonus disc feels out place. It is really not essential and it would've been much better if the DVD were included, even if it did raise the price tag a bit.

Bottom line: Overall, it's still great, but it doesn't live up to the original for me because now there is some filler that pollutes this album. If you are a fan, this is excellent. If you are more of a casual listener and you have already purchased B'Day, I would listen to samples (which are readily available all over) and see if you think it's worth it. You probably won't find it absolutely necessary, even though the price is right, kids!

Have to say at the get go, that I'm a little perplexed by some of the reviews - don't really know what some people were expecting - If you've really followed Kylie's career, you'd know that very little or no comments are made about her being problematic, Diva-like or prone to yelling and screaming. Maybe the fact is, she is just very normal and natural and that the candid on camera talks with William and the collapsing with exhaustion is all we haven't really seen before. Does Kylie really need to be screaming hysterically and crying uncontrollably for this to be "warts 'n all"? I'm loving the fact that she was just ordinary - without staged tantrums or ramblings ala Madonna or Elton in their docos.
Absolutely loved this - really does just show her as a normal as possible person despite her life in focus.
As for the bonus concert, again confused by some reviews, I always seem to love each concert more than the last - but having seen Homecoming live, then finally seeing it again here - I've really appreciated how much more relaxed and stress-free she appears on stage. Her previous shows, whilst still engaging the audience, have been very focussed and machine-like. True to her word, Kylie has taken the time to reflect and enjoy the moment - you only have to watch the few re-edits of some songs from UK Showgirl in the extras to see how strained Kylie appeared previously - of course we all know there were other factors present here.
Above all - fantastic DVD for dedicated or casual fans - doco really does goes beyond the backstage glimpses of previous concert DVDs - if only that you see Kylie as an 'ordinary' - funny, uncomfortable at times, person - if you're expecting some sort of expose - you won't really get it - maybe because there isn't really anything more to see!
On a side note - some of the jazz-style, over-doco songs sung by Kylie, are just beautiful - even the harshest critics would surely be surprised by her perfect handling of this style.

One word AWESOME!!! Disk one - Footage of Depeche Mode's Touring the Angel concert demonstrates the reason the band has been my absolute favorite for the last 15 years. Disk 2 has great clips of the band speaking about the album and their thoughts about their future together along with the tour announcement and other great extras. The bonus Playing the Angel Live CD is a definate must have for any DM fan. I highly recommend this DVD to anyone who "Just Can't Get Enough" of DM like me.

The Way Up Review

The Way Up
Average Reviews:

Most artists who have more than 30 years of success behind them usually talk about that one unfinished masterpiece, the one that's swimming around in the brain just waiting to come out at just the right time. In the case of Pat Metheny, his latest effort "The Way Up" could very well be such a piece.
Consisting of a single 68-minute piece broken into four sections, "The Way Up" finds the Pat Metheny Group diving head first into unknown yet familiar musical territory. Musically, the piece is not too different from that heard on previous efforts such as "Speaking of Now", "Imaginary Day", "Letter From Home" or even "First Circle". However, there are some brilliant new elements heard in the music as well. Metheny's latest drummer Antonio Sanchez plays with more complex syncopations and has a unique style different than his predecessor Paul Wertico. The addition of the young harmonica player Gregoire Maret gives the music more of a folk flavor at times. Maret has an excellent harmonica spot which can be heard in the middle of part two of this piece. Pat's guitar work also seems to be more varied as well alternating between electric, acoustic, slide, 12-string, fuzz and guitar-synth. His playing is acceptional through the piece especially from the middle of part one to the part's conclusion. Trumpeter Cuong Vu shines with brilliance throughout the disc as well displaying a style that echoes Miles Davis with a slight hint of Arturo Sandoval and (dare I say it) Herb Alpert.
Despite this CD being comprised of a single piece of music, there is plenty to digest here. The changes of mood and texture heard throughout the piece make the 68-minute running time almost seem like nothing at all. The strong musicianship between Pat and his bandmates is sensational while the compositional structure is flawless.
Applause must be given to Pat Metheny and keyboardist/collaborator Lyle Mays for taking such a daring step and successfully pulling it off. This is Pat Metheny's definitive magnum-opus, a mountain-top acheivement for this brilliant guitar genius. Bravo.

The Way Up represents, in the words of guitarist Pat Metheny himself, "our most ambitious undertaking ever as a group"-a single, brilliant 68-minute piece composed by Metheny and his collaborator of 28 years, Lyle Mays. Metheny has likened the creation of The Way Up to making a film, and in some respects, the album feels like a vividly rendered journey, its moods shifting like scenes glimpsed from a fast-moving vehicle.

Crystal Visions - The Very Best of Stevie Nicks (CD / DVD) Review

Crystal Visions - The Very Best of Stevie Nicks (CD / DVD)

First off this set is superior to TimeSpace and Enchanted. The treat here is the DVD. You get to hear Stevie's comments on each video and she has something funny to say about each one. You'll see that Stevie isn't as serious as you might have thought she was. The other real treat is the Bella Donna recording sessions videos. Long time fans will really love this CD/DVD, casual fans will want the CD which has some killer live tracks, but die-hards have been waiting for this DVD. Speaking of the live tracks, one can only hope that the full Melbourne show gets a release someday. The orchestra works really well, the strings playing the riff on "Edge Of Seventeen" is very cool.
Well worth the wait and long time fans won't be disappointed.

Andre Rieu is the best. The cd recorded in Vienna is fatastic. There just aren't enough superlatives to describe
the sound he makes. The Violinists (girls) are dressed in ball gowns. Gorgeous! They all have big smiles and everyone is having a great time. I presume he must be a great motivator and leader because to get this type
reaction requires a terrific person. I believe Andre Rieu is that but the sound of his violin. I've heard a few
violins played but none like he does. I recommend any of Rieu's masterpieces.

The twenty-five year old phenomenon with the swoon-inducing baritone returns with his third studio album just in time for Christmas, and I'm guessing that many of his fans are going to give themselves a pre-season treat.
Groban expands his horizons on this album, writing and producing some of the tracks, and mixing it up with international artistes like Ladysmith Black Mambazo and Herbie Hancock, not forgetting Dave Matthews, Five for Fighting and of course David Foster. Following his earlier formula, there are tracks in English, Italian and Spanish, and although the lyrics may be in another language, this doesn't detract from the simple and timeless beauty of the music.
First single "You Are Loved (Don't Give Up)" is one of the most inspiring tracks, with lyrics like "Don't give up / It's just the weight of the world / When you're heart's heavy / I...I will lift it for you", but the crème de la crème as far as I'm concerned is the amazing "February Song" where he accompanies himself on the piano.
Another track to note is "So She Dances" and then there's "In Her Eyes", but one that'll stop you in your tracks is "Lullaby", written by Groban and Dave Matthews, and sung a cappella with Ladysmith Black Mambazo. If you liked Paul Simon's "Graceland", you'll love "Weeping", also with Ladysmith Black Mambazo, and what better way to close an album than a collaboration with Herbie Hancock.
Third time's another charmer for Josh Groban.Amanda Richards, November 7, 2006

Andre Rieu and his team are excellent musicians. The music in this concert is played very well and chosen with great taste for what seems to have been a much-appreciated outdoor concert. Alas, the camera work is awful. The cameras move much too fast, flitting from place to place and angle to angle with dizzying speed through most of the concert. The images, including too many double images, change so fast that you don't really enjoy what is happening. It is almost like being on a roller coaster! I don't know whose decision it was to film it like this, but I was very disappointed and so was my husband who watched it with me. I own three other Andre Rieu DVDs and they are much more enjoyable to watch. I do hope his future DVDs will not be like this.

Showgirl Homecoming Live Review

Being a Kylie fan in the US is hard since, unless you have money to spare to fly to see Kylie, there is no chance of seeing Kylie in concert. Having this CD and her concert DVDs is the next best thing. This CD brings Kylie's triumphant return to the stage after beating breast cancer. The CD is so awesome!! It has many elements of the the "Showgirl: the Greatest hits tour" but she took out some songs, put in new ones, and redid the mixes a few songs. I got chills listening to the Intro and the seconds where there is nothing but applause when Kylie has clearly ascended the stage in her pink feathers.
"Better the devil you know" and "In your eyes" are the same as the 2005 Showgirl tour. Next comes "White Diamond". That song is amazing!! The lyrics are so good: "Like a pure white diamond, I'll shine on and on and on..." Beautiful. This would make a wonderful first single for the studio album that is expected to come out sometime this year.
Everything taboo section:
This is the same as the 2005 Showgirl version. I love how they mix in samples of some older Kylie songs. This medly is a blast to listen to.
Samsara section:
Probably my favorite section of the show. The whole section has a Middle Eastern sound to it.The Temple Prequel gave me goosebumps when I first heard it. I liked the version of "Confide in me" in the previous Showgirl but the new mix is amazing as well. "Cowboy style" is one of my favorites and fits perfectly with the theme. There is a small part of "Finer feelings". That song is one of my many favorite Kylie songs and I'm happy it made a small appearance in this show. "Too far" hasn't been performed since Kylie's 1998 "Intimate and Live" tour and I'm glad it's made a comeback. I think fans are finally beginning to realise the greatness of the songs from the Impossible Princess era and that's fabulous.
Atheltica section:
Great mixes of Red blooded woman (I'm happy she kept the "Where the wild roses grow" part in it) and "Slow". "Kids" makes a comeback and on this recording, Bono does the duet with Kylie. Some fans on Kylie's official forum don't like the duet of them but I think it's great. On the tour, Kylie has also duetted on this song with her sister, Dannii, and hopefully that will appear on the upcoming DVD
Dreams:
"Somewhere over the rainbow" is beautifully performed. "Come into my world" is still in the ballad form as in the 2005 version. "Chocolate" also sounds the same. "I believe in you" sounds mostly the same as well. Going into "Dreams", there is a small part of "When you wish upon a star". "Dreams" got a 2006 makeover. It sounds more laid-back, kind of like an acoustic performance. It's still really beautful sounding though.
Pop Paradiso:
Burnng up/Vogue-I love it. The "Vogue" part is just the rap but Kylie really does sound great doing it. "The Loco-motion" sounds almost the same as the 2005 version. I kind of like this version better. "I should be so lucky" starts with a little bit of a song called "The only way is up" and ISBSL is still the 80's orginal. I loved the orginal version of "Hand on your heart"(I still get goosebumps when I watch the DVD) but the new version is fantastic as well. You can't help but feel good while listening to it.
Dance of the Cybermen:
"Can't get you out of my head" is an all-new mix. Parts of it sound like when Kylie first performed it on the On a night like this tour in early 2001. I love that Kylie brought back "Light Years". That song is pop perfection. After the second chorus, Kylie sings an oldie-"Turn it into love" before returning to "Light years". The two songs mix perfectly together. Kylie then talks about what she thought she might say and how she thought about the moment for a long time. She gets a little emotional and it's hard not to feel for her. She also talks about how she is officially fashionably late for her Australian dates. She then dedicates "Especially for you" to her father. "Love at first sight" is the last song and sounds like the first Showgirl tour version.
It's so great to have Kylie back on the stage. Even though I'm not able to see the Showgirl Homecoming tour, this CD and the upcoming DVD will be enough. I know this CD will be played non-stop in my CD player for a long time. If you buy this CD of this amazing show, I guarantee you won't regret it.

i, like many others, knew and loved the sydney DVD first. that show is incredibly upbeat throughout, w/ kylie clearly having a blast and everything is very extrovert. the goal for this concert was to match the fever album, and have a more "cool" and technological aesthetic. the result is less "fun" and less immediately catchy than the sydney show, but after i got used to the concept i found that i loved this concert just as much. although i think it's too bad kylie does less dancing (she's a great dancer!), it does a good job of giving a more sophisticated feel.
the show is divided into seven distinct sections. the first has kylie w/ a team of "cyborgs", and the opener, "come into my world", is just fantastic. the 2nd is based on a clockwork orange, then comes a medley of ballads (w/ kylie in a gorgeous black dress), then a more urban section, then a sexy section (w/ an absolutely great reworking of locomotion), then a clubby section (w/ "limbo" and a great, great, great new version of "lucky"). the encore section includes a sort of native american/tribal kylie on a platform covered by a huge dress, and then ends w/ kylie solo doing "can't get blue monday out of my head". kylie's vocals are strong and her live performance is always engaging; her band is first rate; the set, costumes, and camerawork are great; the projections are generally good (esp. the GBI ones which have kylie in a pink japanese-style wig and are just fantastic); and her dancing is less pop-style, but generally fits the music well. also, the setlist is a good mix of recent singles and less familiar tunes, including a lovely version of "the crying game".
this edition is great b/c it includes a lot of bonuses, including a section of the digital projections from the concert for 4 songs, a documentary, an audio CD of most of the highlights from the show (sadly the "lucky" remix isn't here, but it's on the digital projections), a digital version of the tour book, and a photo gallery. all in all this is a great release, and the extras are totally worth it if you're a fan.

One Night Only - Rod Stewart Live at Royal Albert Hall Review

One Night Only - Rod Stewart Live at Royal Albert Hall
Average Reviews:

Others have described the details of the show so I won't bore you except to say that if you're a Rod fan, especially one like me who's loved his work for (groan) over 35 years, I'll just say that... THIS ONE'S GONNA FLOOR YA. Just a fabulous performance (and for once, consistently great camerawork and great editing.) But I do want to tell you about one song, one very special moment. As we know, late one night a thousand years ago Long John Baldry discovered Rod as he was singing in a lonely train station, and took him under his wing. Rod's returned the favour big time. Imagine if you will being a very young woman busking on the streets of Glasgow... and one week later descending a beautifully lit grand staircase to the stage of the Royal Albert Hall to sing "I Don't Wanna Talk About It" on live national TV with Rod Stewart. God, how this girl keeps it together is beyond me, but she does, she in fact KILLS. It's an exquisitely beautiful, deeply moving, very human moment. A great moment of artistic generosity on Rod's part, and a lump-in-the-throat moment for the viewer as Amy Belle experiences what must have been the peak moment of her life. It's unforgettable, and there wasn't a dry eye in this house I can promise you. Oh, and any Rod fan who's hesitant about this American Songbook stuff, not to worry, his performance of these old chestnuts is fabulous, as though they'd been written for him or by him. And the final number, "Sailing," is a knockout. I think this DVD simply backs up what I've always maintained, which is that Rod is the greatest solo act of our generation. Rod, if you're reading this, a million thanks for all the pleasure over five decades, all the unforgettable shows, from a little kid from the Boston Tea Party...

Kylie Minogue: Live - Kylie X 2008

I was very excited to hear that KylieX2008 is finally coming to DVD. When I first ordered it, I was a little sceptical because I haven't really heard anything about the DVD coming to NTSC format (for US & Canada). After I read the reviews, I had to order it - watched it for the first time last Saturday and fell in love with it!! This is by far one of Kylie's best tours!! It was very successful last year and is completely different from her previous concerts! Kylie is backed up by her band (with brass players), a minimalist set with huge LCD screens which cue as curtains, and different acts. Here's the setlist:
ACT 1: Xlectro Static - Kylie is dressed as a spiderwoman/dancers as robots
1. Speakerphone
2. Can't Get You Out Of My Head (Greg Kurtsin Remix) - love this version and I like how she adds some lines from her unreleased song "Boombox."
3. Ruffle My Feathers - an unreleased track from the X sessions
4. In Your Eyes (X2008 version) - this is an electro remix of IYE. Love this version!
ACT 2: Cheer Squad - Kylie and her dancers are dressed as cheerleaders/American football players at a pep rally!
5. Heart Beat Rock
6. Wow
7. Shocked (DNA Mix)
ACT 3: Beach Party - my favorite section! Kylie and her dancers are dressed as sailors
8. Loveboat - One of my favorite songs off of Light Years! I like how she also incorporates the LoveBoat theme song in the beginning
9. Copacabana - The Barry Manilow cover with her dancers acting out the song with Kylie's vocals!
10. Spinning Around - Kylie does a mash-up with Spinning Around to the music of Cheryl Lynn's Got To Be Real
ACT 4: Xposed - Kylie is dressed as an "erotic bellboy"
11. Like a Drug - Kylie sings as she is riding on a platinum skull
12. Slow - it's slightly remixed with a rock feel to it. Kylie also sings some lines from "Free."
13. 2 Hearts - Kylie grooves to this song along with her band!
ACT 5: Naughty Manga Girl - Kylie is dressed as a Manga inspired character while her dancers are dressed as Samurais and Geishas!
14. Sometime Samurai - a video interlude with her acrobats
15. Come Into My World (Fischerspooner Remix) - the set is awesome! Petals and snow flying from the air while Kylie comes out of a black pyramid.
16. Nu-Di-Ty - one word: HOT!!
17 Sensitized
ACT 6: Starry Nights - Kylie is dressed in a blue gown - this is the slow section of the concert
18. Flower - an unreleased song from the X sessions
19. I Believe In You (Ballad Version) - I really like this song as a ballad. It sounds very melodic
ACT 7: Black Versus White - Kylie is dressed as an 18th century coachman while her dancers are also dressed in black & white.
20. On A Night Like This - starts out as an Overture, Kylie's pianist playing the piano while the dancers are dancing the waltz, and next we see Kylie!
21. Your Disco Needs You - it's good to see that she resurrected this song from when she did Showgirls Greatest Hits Tour.
22. Kids - Kylie sings this with her background vocalists.
23. Step Back In Time - starts off acapella and then becomes remixed with a color theme!
24. In My Arms
ACT 8: Encore
25. No More Rain
26. The One (Freemasons Mix)
27. Love At First Sight (Ruff & Jam US Mix)
28. I Should Be So Lucky - a nice way to end the show!
Overall, this is her best tour to date!! Anyone that's a fan of Minogue's and loves the X album will really appreciate this show!

Elvis: '68 Comeback (1968) Review

Elvis: '68 Comeback (1968)
Average Reviews:

This DVD has just the basics of Elvis' excellent 1968 special. If you want an in-depth presentation, you should get the 2 DVD Deluxe edition. This DVD includes nearly all of the footage of the original show. Elvis' performances are outstanding, especially the "informal" jam session, where Elvis actually plays his guitar instead of just using it as a prop! Elvis' informal jam session was an early precursor of the MTV Unplugged series that would follow more than 20 years later. The bonus material includes some outtakes and photos, but really does not add much to the set. This DVD should be enough for the average fan and it is available at a reasonable price. Hardcore fans will want the deluxe edition.

Elvis: Aloha from Hawaii (Deluxe Edition) (1973) Review

Elvis: Aloha from Hawaii (Deluxe Edition) (1973)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This Deluxe Edition DVD features pretty much everything you could ask for in regards to Elvis Aloha from Hawaii. You get the staged footage of Elvis arriving in Hawaii and greeting fans, which is actually pretty boring. You get the complete rehearsal concert that was taped two days before the live broadcast. Elvis shows more energy here than in the broadcast concert, but he forgets more of the lyrics and sings two less songs. You get the complete Aloha from Hawaii Concert, which has been re-edited from scratch. The show was originally broadcast with quite a bit of "montage" footage, which means multiple images from the concert seen on the screen all at once in video blocks, but almost all of those effects were removed from this version. After the concert, Elvis recorded five songs on stage with no audience, which were inserted into the concert after commercial breaks, played with montage footage of Hawaii. The complete footage of that recording session is here, complete with all takes of each song, with no footage of Hawaii. Finally, the original broadcast version of Elvis Aloha from Hawaii is included, minus the commercials. What more can you ask for?

I was personally there at the Live taping of the concert and the video is just as spectacular as the taping, especially when they showed the part where he sang,"Woke up in New York City".You couldn't see the effect until you saw the Special on TV or the video. This is definitely a Ricky Martin Fan must have item.
